NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO RAISE A LOAN

Airport Improvement Loan 1955, £65,400

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the City of Palmerston North taken on the 19th day of October 1955 on the proposal of the Palmerston North City Council to borrow the sum of sixty-five thousand four hundred pounds for meeting half cost of constructing a hard-surfaced runway at Milson Aerodrome and carrying out alterations to the Administration Building—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 2902
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1244

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

HAURAKI PLAINS COUNTY COUNCIL

COPY OF RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Hauraki Plains County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £50,000 authorized to be raised by the Hauraki Plains County Council under the above-mentioned Act for rural housing, the said Hauraki Plains County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 4d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the whole of the County of Hauraki Plains; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 14th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council held at the County Council Chambers, Ngatea, on Wednesday, 12 October 1955.

MASTERTON COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Masterton County Tauru Public Hall Loan 1955, of £2,500

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, and in pursuance and exercise of all other powers and authorities enabling it in this behalf, the Masterton County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, principal, and other charges on a special loan of £2,500 authorized to be raised by the Masterton County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing land, erecting, furnishing, and equipping a public hall in the Tauru District of the County of Masterton, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-nineteenth of one penny (1/19d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Uriti Riding of the County of Masterton, the said Riding being described in Gazette for the year 1919 at pages 3601 and 3002; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years from the 1st day of December 1953, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

FEATHERSTON COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Staff Housing Loan 1955, £13,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and amendments, and all other Acts, powers, and authorities in that behalf enabling it, the Featherston County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing for the charges (principal and interest) on a loan of thirteen thousand pounds (£13,000) to be known as the Staff Housing Loan 1955 authorized to be raised by the Featherston County Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the purposes of erecting four staff houses, the said Featherston County Council makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought nought nought three eight six (.000386) pence in the pound (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable properties within the County of Featherston; and that such special rate be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and to be payable yearly on the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Featherston County Council at a meeting of the Said Council held on the 14th day of October 1955.

PAHIATUA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Pahiatua County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £7,000 authorized to be raised by the Pahiatua County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting two staff houses, the Pahiatua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eight one-hundredths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the whole of the County of Pahiatua; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

We, the undersigned, certify that the foregoing resolution is a true and correct extract from the minutes of proceedings of an ordinary meeting of the Pahiatua County Council held at Pahiatua on the 12th day of October 1955.
