WAIRAU RIVER BOARD

SPECIAL ORDER MAKING SPECIAL RATE re PLANT LOAN 1955

IN pursuance of the River Boards Act 1908, the Rating Act 1925, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, and amendments thereto, the Wairau River Board hereby resolves by way of special order:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing interest, principal, and other charges on a loan of £16,350 authorized to be raised by the Wairau River Board under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of purchasing plant, the said Wairau River Board hereby makes and levies a special rate as follows:

‘‘On lands in A Classification 16/100ths of a penny in the pound.

‘‘On lands in B Classification 16/100ths of a penny in the pound less 10 per cent, thereof.

‘‘On lands in C Classification 16/100ths of a penny in the pound less 20 per cent, thereof.

‘‘Upon the rateable value being the capital value of all rateable property of the Wairau River District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of four years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

‘‘And further notice is hereby given that the said Board proposes to appoint the proportions of the said special rate upon the several classes of land in manner aforesaid, and shall at the meeting of the Board to be held on 19 October 1955 consider all objections in writing (if any) which shall have been received by the Board to such proposed proportions.’’

I hereby certify that the above is a copy of a special order which was duly passed at a meeting of the Wairau River Board held on the 19th day of October 1955.

BOROUGH OF MOTUEKA

THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Motueka Borough Council at its meeting held on the 11th day of October 1955 has resolved to prepare for the Motueka Borough a district scheme as required by the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.

Every person and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit any proposals which, in his or its opinion, should be considered in the preparation of the proposed scheme.

Proposals marked ‘‘Motueka District Scheme’’ should be addressed to the Town Clerk and delivered at the Town Clerk’s Office on or before the 5th day of January 1956.

APPLICATION FOR LICENCE FOR A WATER RACE

UNDER THE MINING ACT 1926

NOTICE is hereby given that WALTER ALEXANDER DUNSTAN, of Christchurch, Engineer, will apply to the Warden of the Otago Mining District at Cromwell at 10 o’clock in the forenoon on Wednesday, the 7th day of December 1955, for a licence for a water race to divert 5,000 heads of water from the Kawarau River by means of a tunnel at Waitiri, in Kawarau Survey District, for mining purposes. Objections must be filed in the office of the Mining Registrar, Cromwell, and notified to applicant, whose address for service is at the office of Messrs Brodrick and Parcell, Solicitors, Melmore Street, Cromwell, at least three days before the above-mentioned time of hearing.

INANGAHUA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATES

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it on that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Inangahua County Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing security for interest and other charges on a loan of £10,000 authorized to be raised by the Inangahua County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the supply of water to Reefton Township, the said Inangahua County Council hereby makes a special rate of one-tenth of a penny in the pound upon the capital value of all rateable property of the whole of the County of Inangahua, and that such special rate will be an annually recurring rate, and be payable yearly on the 14th day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

CERTIFIED copy of resolution making special rate as security for the Mount Albert Tram Track Roading Loan 1955, £51,500, passed by the Mount Albert Borough Council on Tuesday, 11 October 1955:

‘‘That in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Mount Albert Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £51,500 (fifty-one thousand five hundred pounds)—Tram Track Roading Loan 1955, £51,500,—authorized to be raised by the Mount Albert Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of meeting the cost of restoring and improving Sandringham Road and purchasing and installing traffic lights, the said Mount Albert Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·0506 pence in the pound upon the rateable value, on the basis of the capital value, of all rateable property in the Borough of Mount Albert; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’’

Given under the common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the Borough of Mount Albert this 11th day of October 1955.

COPY OF RESOLUTION PASSED ON MONDAY, 17 OCTOBER 1955

RESOLUTION making special rate as security for City Abattoir Loan 1955, of £20,000:

‘‘In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Dunedin City Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £20,000 authorized to be raised by the Dunedin City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of completing the purpose for which the City Abattoir Loan 1953, £20,000, was raised, the said Dunedin City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·021d. in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the City of Dunedin, comprising the whole of the City of Dunedin; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first (1st) day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’’

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of the resolution passed by the Dunedin City Council on the above-mentioned date.
