HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 186 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and section 125 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorizes the Christchurch City Council to permit the laying off of the proposed street described in the Schedule hereto at a width for part of its length of less than 66 ft., but not less than 50 ft., subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on Lots 1 to 11 (inclusive) of a subdivision of the land shown edged green on the plan referred to in the said Schedule as P.W.D. 148359 within a distance of 40 ft. from the centre line of the said street.

Boundaries of Auckland Transport District Altered

At the Government House at Wellington this 26th day of October 1955
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, the Local Government Commission has approved as final a scheme bearing date the 7th day of February 1955, providing for the exclusion of the areas comprising the Mangere Riding of the County of Manukau, the Borough of Mount Wellington, and the Road District of Panmure Township from the Auckland Transport District, and making supplementary provision incidental thereto:
And whereas, pursuant to section 33 of the said Act, appeals from the decision of the Local Government Commission contained in the final scheme have been made by certain local authorities:
And whereas, pursuant to section 34 of the said Act, the said appeals have been heard by the Local Government Appeal Authority which has ordered that the final scheme of the Local Government Commission be confirmed subject to certain amendments:
And whereas the final scheme as so amended and confirmed provides that the Mangere Riding of the County of Manukau shall be excluded from the Auckland Transport District:
And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the final scheme as so amended and confirmed as hereinafter appearing:
Now, therefore, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the area comprising the Mangere Riding of the County of Manukau is hereby excluded from the Auckland Transport District.

Exempting Land in the Taranaki Land District From the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

PURSUANT to the Coal Mines Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby gives the following notice.
NOTICE

The land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby exempted from the operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925.

This notice is in substitution for the notice given on the 18th day of July 1955 and published in the Gazette of the 28th day of July 1955, No. 48, at page 1176, and that notice is hereby revoked.
SCHEDULE
ALL that parcel of land in the Taranaki Land District containing 1 rood 38³/₁₀ perches, more or less, being Lots 1, 2, and 3 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at New Plymouth as No. 7765, being part of Section 16, Block X, Mapara Survey District, and part of the Rangitoto-Tuhua 79c No. 1 Block, and being part of the land in certificates of title, Volume 150, folio 83, and Volume 162, folio 235, Taranaki Registry, excepting thereout all coal on or under the surface of the land.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 17th day of October 1955.

Margaret Elspeth Cameron, B.H.Sc., Registered Dietitian, for a term of one year six months from the 1st day of October 1955, to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Miss Esme Stuart Ussher.
