RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Howick-Pakuranga Water Supply Loan 1955, £27,750

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Manukau County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £27,750 authorized to be raised by the Manukau County Council for the purpose of supplying and laying mains for bulk water supply, purchase of plant, and erection of buildings incidental thereto, the said Manukau County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seventeen/one hundred and twenty-eighths of a penny (17/128d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Pakuranga Riding of the said County; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid up.”

I, Neil MacDougall, Chairman of the Manukau County Council, hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Manukau County Council held on the 26th day of September 1955.

MANUKAU COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Takanini-Tironui Water Supply Special Area Loan No. 2 1955, £30,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Manukau County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £30,000 authorized to be raised by the Manukau County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of carrying out water supply works within the Takanini-Tironui Special Rating Area, the said Manukau County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twenty-five/sixty-fourths of a penny (25/64d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Takanini-Tironui Special Rating Area in the said County, being the Special Rating Area more particularly defined in the N.Z. Gazette No. 55 of the 25th day of August 1955, page 1366; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year or during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Roads Improvement Loan 1955, £150,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Manukau County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £150,000 authorized to be raised by the Manukau County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of reconstructing, metalling, and sealing various main highways and roads within the County, and providing footpaths, kerbing, channelling and storm-water drainage in certain areas of the said County, the said Manukau County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of fifteen/sixty-fourths of a penny (15/64d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the said County; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year or during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

POVERTY BAY CATCHMENT BOARD

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LANDS

Waipaoa River Flood Control Scheme

NOTICE is hereby given that the Poverty Bay Catchment Board, acting under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, proposes to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto for a public work, namely, for river control purposes.

Notice is further given that plans of the lands required to be taken are deposited in the office of the Board at 16 Childers Road, Gisborne, and are open for inspection by all persons during office hours.

All persons affected by the taking of such lands or by the execution of such public works who have any well-founded ground of objection thereto must state their objection in writing, and deliver the same to the Secretary of the Poverty Bay Catchment Board at the Board’s Offices within forty days from the first publication of this notice.

THE SCHEDULE

All of which above described lands are situated in Block I, Waimata Survey District, in the County of Cook, Gisborne Land Registration District, and within the Poverty Bay Catchment District. The plan referred to is deposited in the Survey Office at Gisborne.
