TE KUITI BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Bridge Replacement Loan 1954, £18,000

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of the above Council held on the 19th day of September 1955, the following resolution was passed:

‘‘In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Te Kuiti Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of eighteen thousand pounds (£18,000) authorized to be raised by the Te Kuiti Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of replacing the bridges across the Mangaokewa River at King Street and at Sheridan Street, the said Te Kuiti Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one and one-half penny (1½d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all the rateable property within the Borough of Te Kuiti; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-five (35) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Ashburton County Council at its meeting held on the 16th day of September 1955 resolved to prepare, for the portion of the Tinwald Town District now merged in the Ashburton County, a district scheme as required by the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.

Every person and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit any proposals which in his or its opinion should be considered in the preparation of the proposed scheme.

Proposals marked ‘‘Ashburton District Scheme No. 2’’ should be addressed to the County Clerk, Box 43, Ashburton, and delivered at the Ashburton County Offices on or before 3 December 1955.

PURSUANT to the Mining Act 1926, the undersigned, SAMUEL IRVINE BICKERSTAFF, of Beaumont, Orchardist, hereby applies for a licence to take 6 heads of water from a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Date and number of miner’s right: 7 September 1955; No. 91947.

LOCALITY of the race, and of its starting and terminal points; also description of land traversed, e.g., unalienated Crown land, private land, or otherwise: Water to be taken from Carsons Creek, Beaumont, within applicant’s own property by suction pumps into the pipe-line on applicant’s property. No construction of a race is necessary as the licence applied for is to take water from an existing watercourse known as Carsons Creek.

Points of intake: 30 yards below the road bridge over Carsons Creek and 100 yards below the road bridge over Carsons Creek.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Nil.

Mean depth and breadth: Nil.

Number of heads to be diverted: 6 heads.

Purpose for which water is to be used: Irrigation over 8 acres and household use.

Proposed term of licence: 21 years.

Precise time of filing of the foregoing application: 9 a.m., 20 September 1955.

Gazette No. 46, of the 21st day of July 1955, page 1147, and plan of the Murupara Section which is on deposit at the County Office, Whakatane); a district scheme as required by the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.

Every person and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit any proposals which in his, or its opinion, should be considered in the preparation of the proposed scheme.
