CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Acts amending the same.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Christchurch, a body corporate under the Municipal Corporation Act 1954, proposes to take under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928 and its amendments, for the purposes of an electric substation, all that parcel of land situated in Block X of the Christchurch Survey District containing 3 perches and ¹/₁₃th of a perch, being part Lot 24 on Deposit Plan 12960, part Rural Section 12, and being that part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 184, folio 252, more particularly shown coloured blue on plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Christchurch, and therein numbered S.O. 8883.
And notice is hereby further given that a plan showing the land required to be taken, and the names of the owners and occupiers of such land, is deposited at the offices of the Town Clerk of the City of Christchurch, Manchester Street, Christchurch, where it lies open for public inspection daily (without fee) during all reasonable hours, and that all persons affected shall, if they have any objection to the taking of such land, set forth in writing such objection, and send such writing, within forty days from the date of the first publication of such notice, being the 17th day of September 1955, addressed to the Town Clerk, Christchurch.

BOROUGH OF RICHMOND
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Fire Prevention Plant Loan 1954, £2,000
THE following resolution making a special rate was passed at a meeting of the Council held on the 13th day of September 1955:
“‘That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Richmond Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of two thousand pounds (£2,000) authorized to be raised by the Richmond Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing a fire engine and plant, the said Richmond Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixteenth of a penny (¹/₁₆d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Richmond; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’’
I hereby certify the above to be a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Richmond Borough Council held on the 13th day of September 1955.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 16th day of September 1955, cancelled the registry of St. Andrew’s Branch, No. 575, a branch of the New Zealand District of the Hibernian-Australasian Catholic Benefit Society (Register No. 198/58), held at Levin, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

WAIRARAPA SOUTH COUNTY COUNCIL
In the matter of the Counties Act 1920 and in the matter of the Public Works Act 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Wairarapa South County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts and their respective amendments, to execute a certain public work, namely, making a gravel pit; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Wairarapa South County Council, Belvedere Road, Carterton, and also at the offices of Messrs Major, Gooding, and Wollerman, Solicitors, High Street, Carterton, and may be inspected (without fee) at either of those places by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk, at the Council Chambers, Belvedere Road, Carterton.
THE SCHEDULE
ALL that piece of land situated in the County of Wairarapa South containing ten acres two roods and thirty-six perches (10 acres 2 roods 36 perches), be the same a little more or less, being in Block X of the Tiffin Survey District, and being the Maori Land Court Subdivision known as Taratahi 391c No. 1d 1, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 577, folio 139, Wellington Land Registry. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan drawn on the said certificate of title.
