A PRIVATE BILL INTITULED MARY BRYANT TRUST
BOARD ENABLING BILL 1955
NOTICE is hereby given that the Mary Bryant Trust Board
intends to apply for leave to bring into the House of
Representatives at the ensuing session a Private Bill the short
title of which is as above.
The object of the proposed Bill is to enlarge or extend the
powers of the Board and to grant authority to dispose of
surplus income.
The Bill is promoted by the Mary Bryant Trust Board,
whose address for service is at the offices of Messrs King,
McCaw, Smith, and Arcus, Solicitors, Victoria Street,
Hamilton.
A copy of the proposed Bill may be inspected at the above
address.

JOHN LYSAGHT’S BRISTOL WORKS LIMITED
NOTICE OF CEASING TO HAVE A PLACE OF BUSINESS IN
NEW ZEALAND
JOHN Lysaght’s Bristol Works Limited, incorporated in
England, hereby gives notice of its intention to cease to
have a place of business in New Zealand on the 24th day of
December 1955.
The business heretofore carried on by the above company
in New Zealand will be continued by John Lysaght (New
Zealand) Limited which has recently been incorporated in
New Zealand.

APPLICATION FOR LICENCE FOR A WATER RACE
JOHN FREDERICK KINNEY, of Hyde, Farmer, hereby
gives notice that he has applied for a licence for a water
race to lift two heads of water for irrigation and domestic
purposes from the Taieri River. The point of intake is opposite
Section 11s, Hyde Settlement, and one mile below the Hyde
Bridge across the Taieri River. The length of the race is 250
yards from the point of intake to a storage dam in applicant’s
own property being Section 11s. The water will be carried in
a 9 in. pipeline. The application and all objections thereto
will be heard on Wednesday, the 12th day of October 1955,
at 10 a.m., at the Warden’s Court, Cromwell, and all objections
must be filed in the Registrar’s office and notified to the
applicant at least three days before the time so appointed.
His residence at Hyde is his address for service.

and Robert John Richardson has been dissolved by the death
of Peter Thomas Richardson. The estate of Peter Thomas
Richardson will not be responsible for any debts incurred
after the date of this notice.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Sewer and Stormwater Drainage Loan 1952, £84,500—Final
Issue of £44,500
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its
amendments, and all other powers in that behalf thereunto
enabling it, the Palmerston North City Council doth hereby
resolve as follows:
“That for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £44,500, being the final issue of the Sewer
and Stormwater Drainage Loan 1952, of £84,500, authorized
to be raised by the Palmerston North City Council under the
above-mentioned Act for the purpose of carrying out sewer
and stormwater drainage works, the said Palmerston North
City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one
hundred and nine one-thousandths of a penny (109/1000d.)
in the pound upon the rateable value (upon the basis of the
unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of
Palmerston North; and that such special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said loan
and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period
of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Palmerston North City
Council held on the 27th day of April 1955.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its
amendments, and all other powers in that behalf thereunto
enabling it, the Palmerston North City Council doth hereby
resolve as follows:
“That for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £5,200 authorized to be raised by the
Palmerston North City Council under the above-mentioned
Act for the purpose of completing the alterations and
improvements to the Opera House and the Municipal Hall, the
said Palmerston North City Council hereby makes and levies
a special rate of thirteen one-thousandths of one penny
(13/1000d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (upon the
basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the
City of Palmerston North; and that such special rate shall
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said
loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period
of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Palmerston North City Council under the above-mentioned
Act for the purpose of carrying out alterations and improvements to the Opera House and Municipal Hall, the said
Palmerston North City Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of three one-hundredths of one penny (0·03d.) in
the pound upon the rateable value (upon the basis of the
unimproved value) of all rateable property of the City of
Palmerston North; and that such special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said loan
and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period
of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
