CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Water Supply Extension Loan 1955, £71,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments, and all other powers it in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of seventy-one thousand pounds (£71,000) authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of extending water supply into the Hoon Hay area, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twenty-one thousand six hundred and three/six million two hundred and fifty thousandths of a penny (21,603/6,250,000.) in the pound (£0·000154402) on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand during the currency of the said loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The Christchurch City Council, at a meeting held on the 29th day of August 1955, passed the above resolution.

FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Building Loan 1955, £40,000

THE following resolution making a special rate was passed at the monthly meeting of the Council held on the 29th day of August 1955:

“That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Franklin County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of forty thousand pounds (£40,000) authorized to be raised by the Franklin County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting a new office building, the Franklin County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of four ninety-ninths of a penny (4/99d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of capital value) of all rateable property in the County of Franklin; and such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Blenheim Borough Council at its meeting held on the 24th day of August 1955 resolved to prepare for the Borough of Blenheim a district scheme as required by the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.

Every person and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit any proposals which in his or its opinion should be considered in the preparation of the proposed scheme.

Proposals marked “Blenheim District Scheme” should be addressed to the Town Clerk and delivered at the Town Clerk’s Office or on before the 8th day of November 1955.
