PURSUANT to the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the following notice received by the Minister of Finance from the Chairman of the Manawatu Catchment Board is hereby published.

Waikawa-Manakau Rivers Scheme Loan 1955, £2,500—Notice of Result of Poll on a Proposal to Raise a Loan

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Waikawa-Manakau Rivers Scheme Special Area, taken on 18 August 1955, on the proposal of the Manawatu Catchment Board to borrow the sum of £2,500 for the purpose of carrying out river control and drainage works on the Waikawa and Manakau Rivers and adjacent areas:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 52. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 14.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

N.Z. FOREST SERVICE NOTICE

Land in the Wellington Land District Acquired as Permanent State Forest Land

NOTICE is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired under the Forests Act 1949 as permanent State forest land.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT—WELLINGTON CONSERVANCY

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, Horowhenua County, containing by admeasurement 208 acres, more or less, being Horowhenua No. 78 Block, situated in Block VII, Waiopehu Survey District, and being all the land in certificates of title, Volume 188, folios 58 and 59. As shown on plan 85/7 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Dated at Wellington this 1st day of September 1955.
