PURSUANT to the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto by way of loan of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

Authorizing the Wanganui-Bangitikei Electric Power Board
to Erect and Use Electric Lines Within Parts of the
Wanganui, Bangitikei, and Kiwitea Counties

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 7th day of
September 1955

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928 and the Electric
Power Boards Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-
General, acting by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council, hereby authorizes the Wanganui-Bangitikei
Electric Power Board (hereinafter referred to as the licensee),
subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to lay, con-
struct, put up, place, and use electric lines within the areas
of supply described in the Schedule hereto, and further, for
the purpose of section 76 of the Electric Power Boards Act
1925, subject to the said conditions, hereby authorizes the
licensee to construct electric works within the said areas of
supply.
CONDITIONS
IMPLIED CONDITIONS
- The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by
the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical
Wiring Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall
form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may
be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
- The licence hereby conferred is subject to compliance by
the licensee with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935,
the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference
Regulations 1934, and with all regulations hereafter made in
amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.
SYSTEMS OF SUPPLY
- The systems of supply shall be as described in para-
graphs (a) and (f) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical
Supply Regulations 1935.
DURATION OF LICENCE
- This licence shall, unless sooner lawfully determined,
continue in force until the 24th day of October 1964.
SCHEDULE
AREAS OF SUPPLY
ALL those portions of the Wanganui, Rangitikei, and Kiwitea
Counties described in the First and Second Schedules to the
Proclamation dated the 10th day of June 1955 and pub-
lished in the Gazette on the 10th day of the same month, at
page 963, altering the boundaries of the Wanganui-Rangitikei
and Manawatu-Orona Electric Power Districts.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928 and the
Electric Power Boards Act 1925, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
LICENCE
-
This order may be cited as the King Country Electric
Power Board Water Power Licence 1955. -
Subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, the
King Country Electric Power Board (hereinafter referred to
as the licensee) is hereby authorized to obstruct, impound,
or divert the waters of the Kuratan River (hereinafter
referred to as the said stream) situated in the County of
Tauramaruni, and to take and use therefrom for the purpose
hereinafter set forth, a stream of water not exceeding 400
cubic feet per second. -
The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by
the Water Power Regulations 1934 and the Electrical Supply
Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated herein and shall
form part of this licence, except in so far as they may be
inconsistent with the provisions hereof. -
This licence is issued under the Water Power Regula-
tions 1934 and is subject thereto, and to the Electrical
Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations
1935, the Radio Interference Regulations 1934, and to all
regulations made in amendment thereof or in substitution
therefor, except in so far as they may be inconsistent with the
provisions hereof. -
Water shall be used under this licence solely for the
purpose of generating electricity, and shall be taken from
the said stream at a point approximately 3¼ miles down-
stream from the Tauramaruni-Turangi State Highway
bridge over the said stream, the said point being more par-
ticularly indicated on the plan marked S.H.D. 352 deposited
in the office of the State Hydro-electric Department at
Wellington. -
The licensee is hereby authorized, subject to the con-
ditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the works
described in the Schedule hereto, the positions of the said
works being indicated on the said plan S.H.D. 352. -
The systems of supply shall be as described in para-
graphs (a) and (f) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical
Supply Regulations 1935. -
For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum
payable in respect of this licence, the licensee may install a
suitable maximum demand indicator to the satisfaction of
the Inspecting Engineer of the State Hydro-electric Depart-
ment, and failing such installation the rental shall be
determined on the maximum capacity of the generating
plant installed. The plant proposed to be installed is rated
at 6,500 kilovolt amperes. -
Nothing in this licence shall of itself be deemed to
confer upon the licensee any right to water. -
This licence shall, unless sooner lawfully determined,
continue in force until the 31st day of March 1968,
