Opunake Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing the balance of money necessary to construct a new office building situated in Tasman Street, Opunake, and for such purpose to do all or any such matters and things which the Board is empowered to do by the Electric Power Boards Act 1925 and its amendments, and by all other powers and authorities it enabling, the Opunake Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal point nought sixty-seventh of a penny (0·067d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Opunake Electric Power District, such special rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of May in each and every year, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully repaid.”

Notice is hereby given that at a meeting of the Opunake Electric Power Board held in the Egmont County Council Chambers, Napier Street, Opunake, on the 19th day of August 1955, the above resolution was duly passed.

WAIHEKE ROAD BOARD

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Waiheke Road Board, at its meeting held on the 15th day of July 1955, has resolved to prepare for the Waiheke Road District a district scheme as required by the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953. Such scheme will, having regard to the present and future requirements of the said district and to its geographical and economic relationship to any neighbouring areas, and subject to any exemption which may at any time hereafter be granted by the Minister of Works under the provisions of section 19 (1) of the said Act, make provision for such of the following matters as are appropriate to the circumstances, namely:

(1) The zoning or definition of areas to be used exclusively or principally for specified purposes or classes of purposes.

(2) The preservation of objects and places of historical interest or natural beauty.

(3) The designation of reserves and proposed reserves for national, civic, cultural and community purposes, for afforestation and water catchment purposes, for recreation grounds, ornamental gardens, parks, and children’s playgrounds, and for open spaces.

(4) The designation of open spaces for purposes of value to the community on land not intended to be owned by the Council.

(5) Public access from place to place, car parks, transport terminals, aerodromes, and public transport systems, including their creation, establishment, closing, removal, alteration, and diversion; traffic routing; the co-ordination of street widths with land uses and population densities; off street provision for vehicles while being loaded or unloaded or standing; the fixing of building lines in relation to highways.

(6) Sewerage, drainage, and sewage and rubbish disposal.

(7) Lighting and water supply.

(8) Buildings, with particular reference to—
(a) Their position on allotment and in relation to any highways and to other buildings.
(b) Their density, use, character, height, and harmony in design and external appearance.
(c) Verandahs in commercial streets.
(d) Open spaces about buildings.
(e) The fixing of building lines for amenity and other purposes.

(9) Provision and preservation of amenities, including regulation and control of outdoor advertising displays.

(10) Control of subdivision, including restraint upon unnecessary encroachment of urban development upon land of high actual or potential value for production of food.

(11) Land subdivisional standards in relation to any permitted use.

(12) Minimum site areas and dimensions in relation to users of land and buildings.

(13) Ancillary or consequential works and all other matters involving the principles of town and country planning.

Every person and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit any proposals which, in his or its opinion, should be considered in the preparation of the proposed scheme.

Proposals marked “Waiheke Road Board District Scheme” should be addressed to the Clerk and delivered at his office, First Floor, National Mutual Life Chambers, 41 Shortland Street, Auckland, on or before the 30th day of November 1955.

RANGIORA BOROUGH COUNCIL

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928, and in the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Rangiora Borough Council, being a Council under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, proposes to take in the manner provided by the Public Works Act 1928 and under the powers therein and in the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 contained, the lands described in the Schedule hereto in connection with a public work which the said Council is empowered to undertake, construct, or provide, namely, the drainage of the Rangiora Borough; and notice is hereby given that a plan showing the land to be taken and the names of the owners and occupiers of such land is deposited at the office of the Town Clerk of Rangiora, where it lies open for public inspection daily (without fee) during all reasonable hours, and that all persons affected shall, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth in writing such objections and send such writing within forty days from the 26th day of August 1955 (being the date of the first publication of this notice) addressed to the Town Clerk, Rangiora.

SCHEDULE

FIRSTLY, all that parcel of land situate in Block VII of the Rangiora Survey District containing twenty-three perches, more or less, being part of Lot 10 on Deposit Plan Number 194, and being part of Rural Section 793, and being part of the land in certificate of title, Volume 427, folio 18, Canterbury Registry.

And secondly, all that parcel of land situate in Block VII of the Rangiora Survey District containing twenty-seven perches and three-tenths of a perch, more or less, being part of Lot 11 on Deposit Plan Number 194, and being part of Rural Section 793, and being part of the land in certificate of title, Volume 427, folio 17, Canterbury Registry.

Both of the said parcels of land being more particularly shown coloured in blue on a plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Christchurch and therein numbered 8858.

Dated at Rangiora this 26th day of August 1955.
