RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Waitemata Electric Power Board Reticulation Extension and Reinforcement Loan (1955), £195,000

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, and amendments and regulations made thereunder, and all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing half-yearly instalments of principal and interest and other charges on a loan of £195,000 authorized to be raised by the Waitemata Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Acts in order to provide additional moneys for the purpose of the further reticulation of electric power within the whole of the Waitemata Electric Power District, the Waitemata Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 12/100ths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the capital value) of all rateable property within the whole of the Waitemata Electric Power District as defined in the Proclamation proclaiming the said district appearing in the N.Z. Gazette dated the 15th day of October 1923, and altered by Proclamations appearing in the N.Z. Gazette dated the 27th day of November 1924, the 26th day of August 1926, the 7th day of March 1929, the 24th day of January 1935, and the 14th day of April 1954; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was carried at a meeting of the Waitemata Electric Power Board held on the 25th day of July 1955.

PURSUANT to section 42 of the Rating Act 1925, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Kiwitea, taken on the 30th day of July 1955 on the proposal that the system of rating in the said County be on the unimproved value:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 633. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 75.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
