Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block VIII, Tokomaru Survey District, for a Teacher’s Residence

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for a teacher’s residence; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Tokomaru Bay and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 1 acre and 14 perches.

Being section 6, Block 9, Tuatini Maori Township, and being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 83, folio 143, Gisborne Land Registry.

In the Gisborne Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 145109 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Declaring Land Taken, Subject to a Drainage Easement and to a Building Line Restriction, for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land, Subject to the Said Easement and Building-line Restriction

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be deemed to have been Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948, subject also to the building-line restriction imposed by Memorandum of Acceptance No. W.6937, Taranaki Land Registry, and subject also as to Lot 12 described in the said Schedule to the drainage and incidental rights created by Memorandum of Transfer No. 38638, Taranaki Land Registry, as from the 19th day of April 1955.

CERTIFICATE OF EXECUTION

I, ALAN ASHLEY SKINNER, the Medical Officer in attendance at the execution of Edward Thomas Te Whiu at the prison of Auckland, do hereby certify and declare that I have this day witnessed the execution of the said Edward Thomas Te Whiu at the said prison; and I do further certify and declare that the said Edward Thomas Te Whiu was, in pursuance of the sentence of the Supreme Court, hanged by the neck until his body was dead.

Given under my hand this 18th day of August 1955 at the prison of Auckland.

DECLARATION OF EXECUTION

We do hereby testify and declare that we have this day been present when the extreme penalty of the law was carried into execution on the body of Edward Thomas Te Whiu, convicted at the criminal sittings of the Supreme Court held at Auckland on the 19th day of July last, and sentenced to death, and that the said Edward Thomas Te Whiu was in pursuance of the said sentence hanged by the neck until his body was dead.

Dated this 18th day of August 1955 at the prison of Auckland.
