PURSUANT to section 16 of the New Zealand Army Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army:

Major-General W. G. Gentry, C.B., C.B.E., D.S.O., relinquishes the appointments of Chief of the General Staff and First Military Member of the Army Board. Dated 14 August 1955.
Major-General W. G. Gentry, C.B., C.B.E., D.S.O., relinquishes the appointment of G.O.C., N.Z. Division. Dated 14 August 1955.
Brigadier (Acting Major-General) C. E. Weir, C.B., C.B.E., D.S.O., relinquishes the appointments of Quartermaster-General and Third Military Member of the Army Board, dated 14 August 1955, is promoted to the rank of Major-General, and is appointed Chief of the General Staff and First Military Member of the Army Board. Dated 15 August 1955.
Major-General C. E. Weir, C.B., C.B.E., D.S.O., is appointed G.O.C., N.Z. Division, in addition to his appointments of Chief of the General Staff and First Military Member of the Army Board. Dated 15 August 1955.
