PURSUANT to section 16 of the New Zealand Army Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army:

Regular Force

Major-General W. G. Gentry, C.B., C.B.E., D.S.O., relinquishes the appointments of Chief of the General Staff and First Military Member of the Army Board. Dated 14 August 1955.

Major-General W. G. Gentry, C.B., C.B.E., D.S.O., relinquishes the appointment of G.O.C., N.Z. Division. Dated 14 August 1955.

Brigadier (Acting Major-General) C. E. Weir, C.B., C.B.E., D.S.O., relinquishes the appointments of Quartermaster-General and Third Military Member of the Army Board, dated 14 August 1955, is promoted to the rank of Major-General, and is appointed Chief of the General Staff and First Military Member of the Army Board.
