Rotorua County

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the
Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as road the land described in the First Schedule hereto; and also hereby proclaim
as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Declaring Land, Levels County, South Canterbury Acclimatization District, to be a Wildlife Refuge, and Revoking Part
of a Previous Proclamation

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie,
Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Proclamation dated 19 April 1955 and published in Gazette
No. 31, 28 April 1955, page 707, in so far as it relates to the area described in the Schedule hereto, and I hereby
proclaim and declare that the area described in the Schedule hereto be a Wildlife Refuge for the purpose of the Wildlife
Act 1953.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Levels County, situated in Blocks IX, X, and XI, Arowhenua Survey District,
containing by estimation 363 acres, more or less, being part Reserve 2593, part Lot 2, D.P. 15376 (part Rural Section
8330), part Lot 1A, D.P. 656 (part Rural Section 7458), Lot 24, D.P. 578 (part Rural Section 2149, and part Lot 27,
D.P. 578 (parts Rural Sections 2149 and 2212), and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the north-western side
of the main coastal drain in line with the south-western side of Meadows Settlement Road (Brownes Road), in Block IX,
Arowhenua Survey District; thence south-westerly along the north-western side of the said drain to its intersection with
the south-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 15376; thence continuing south-westerly along a right line in the direction
of the northern abutment of the railway bridge over Washdyke Creek to the eastern boundary of the railway land
(South Island Main Trunk Railway); thence south-easterly generally along the eastern boundary of the railway land,
aforesaid, and the crossing of Washdyke Creek to a point 1250 links south-east of the north-western corner of Lot 27,
D.P. 578; thence continuing south-easterly by right lines bearing 90° 32', 167.5 links; 137° 06', 1402 links; 117° 50',
905.8 links; 143° 36', 952.2 links; 157° 25', 109.6 links, and a right line to the south-western corner of Reserve 911; thence
north-easterly generally along the north-western boundary of that reserve and the mean high-water mark of the sea to a
point in line with the south-western side of Meadows Settlement Road (Brownes Road); thence north-westerly along a
right line to the point of commencement, as more particularly delineated on plan marked IA 52/27 deposited in the Head
Office, Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington, and thereon edged red; and as may be further defined by the
erection of white painted posts.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand,
this 23rd day of August 1955.

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 24th day of August 1955

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the land described in the Schedule hereto being taken for road.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land permitted to be taken: 3.7 perches.
Being part Lot 16, Block I, D.P. 30, being part Section 21.
Situated in Block VII, Jacobs River Hundred, Southland R.D. (S.O. 6143.)

In the Southland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 147526
deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured sepia.
