HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
—
Workers’ Dwellings Loan 1955, £18,000
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, and all other powers thereto enabling, the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves as follows:
‘‘That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of eighteen thousand pounds (£18,000) authorized to be raised by the Horowhenua County Council for the purpose of purchasing or erecting workers’ dwellings, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three sixty-fourths of a penny (3/64d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the County of Horowhenua; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and payable half-yearly on the 1st day of September and the 1st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years (25), or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 18th day of August 1955 presented to the said Court by Westland Construction Company Limited, and that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Christchurch on Tuesday, the 13th day of September 1955, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT 1928

NOTICE is hereby given that the Hutt County Council requires to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for a public work, namely, for the disposal of sewage. A plan of the said land is open for inspection at the offices of the Hutt County Council, Bowen House, Bowen Street, Wellington. All persons affected by such taking are hereby required to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such works as to the taking of the said land, and to send such notice, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk, Hutt County Council, Bowen House, Bowen Street, Wellington.
