Revoking Designation of Portion of State Highway and Designating Portion of Main Highway as State Highway

——

PURSUANT to section 12 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with the written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The portion of main highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be designated as State highway.

  2. The portion of main highway described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby designated as State highway and shall be part of the Dargaville–Ohaewai via Waipoua Forest State Highway.

  3. This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ALL that portion of main highway in Hobson County commencing at the south-western corner of Section 19, Block X, Waipoua Survey District, proceeding in a northerly direction for 1 mile 10 chains, more or less, to the north-eastern corner of Section 20, Block X, Waipoua Survey District; thence in a westerly direction for 1 mile 40 chains, more or less, and terminating at the north-western corner of Section 14, Block X, Waipoua Survey District; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 146215 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange and green.

SECOND SCHEDULE

ALL that portion of main highway in Hobson County commencing at the south-western corner of Section 19, Block X, Waipoua Survey District, proceeding in a westerly direction; thence in a northerly direction, and terminating at the north-western corner of Section 14, Block X, Waipoua Survey District, being a distance of 2 miles 30 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 146215 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Dated at Wellington this 16th day of August 1955.

Revoking Declaration of a Main Highway and Declaring a Public Highway to be a Main Highway

——

PURSUANT to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with the written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (1) The public highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be a main highway.

(2) The Order in Council made on the 24th day of August 1949, Gazette, No. 51, 1 September 1949, page 1810, declaring the said highway to be a main highway is hereby consequently revoked.

  1. The public highway described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a main highway within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953.

  2. This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ALL that public highway declared as the Lower Hutt–Wainui-o-mata Main Highway as described in Order in Council dated 24 August 1949 and published in Gazette, No. 51, 1 September 1949.

SECOND SCHEDULE

LOWER HUTT–WAINUI-O-MATA: All that public highway in Hutt County commencing at the south-eastern boundary of the City of Lower Hutt, proceeding thence generally in a south-easterly direction, and terminating in Wainui-o-mata Township at the junction of Burdan Avenue and Hine Road, being a distance of 4 miles 9 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 145579 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Dated at Wellington this 16th day of August 1955.

ALL that portion of main highway in Waitemata County commencing from a point opposite the south-western corner of part Allotment 15, Okura Parish, proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction, and terminating at a point opposite the north-western boundary of Lot 1, Deeds Plan 38707, being a distance of 55 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 146219 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

All that portion of main highway in the Warkworth Town District declared as the Birkenhead–Maungaturoto Main Highway and described in Order in Council made on the 2nd day of October 1940, Gazette, 10 October 1940, page 2601.

SECOND SCHEDULE

ALL that portion of main highway in Waitemata County commencing from a point opposite the south-western corner of part Allotment 15, Okura Parish, proceeding thence generally in a north-easterly direction, and terminating at a point opposite the north-western boundary of Lot 1, Deeds Plan 38707, being a distance of 39 chains, more or less, as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 146219 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

All that portion of main highway in the Warkworth Town District commencing at the south-western boundary of the said Town District, proceeding thence in a north-westerly direction via Great North Road, Brown’s Road, and again in Great North Road, and terminating at the northern boundary of Warkworth Town District, being a distance of 1 mile 66 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 146220 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Classification of Roads in Mangonui County

——

PURSUANT to subclause (7) of regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1955, the Commissioner of Transport hereby revokes those portions of the Warrant dated the 24th day of May 1951* which apply to the classification in Class Four of the roads described in the Schedule hereto, and hereby approves the Mangonui County Council’s proposed variation in the classification of the said roads as set out in the said Schedule.

MANGATOETOE, Takahue, Victoria Valley–Peria (that portion from its junction with the Whangarei–Awanui State Highway No. 1 to its junction with Mangatoetoe Road).
