Declaring Public Highway to be Main Highway
P
URSUANT to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953,
the National Roads Board, acting with the written
approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as
follows:
-
The portion of public highway described in the Schedule
hereto is hereby declared to be main highway within the
meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act
1953, and shall be part of the Kaikohe–Donnelly’s Crossing
Main Highway. -
This notice shall come into force on the date of its
publication in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE
ALL that portion of public highway commencing at the north-
eastern corner of Section 20, Block X, Waipoua Survey Dis-
trict, proceeding in a westerly direction, and terminating at
the north-western corner of Section 14, Block X, Waipoua
Survey District, being a distance of 1 mile 40 chains, more
or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan
P.W.D. 146215 deposited in the office of the National Roads
Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
Dated at Wellington this 16th day of August 1955.

Varying Declaration of Main Highways
P
URSUANT to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953,
the National Roads Board, acting with the written
approval of the Minister of Works, hereby varies the Orders
in Council made on the 13th day of November 1940 (Gazette,
No. 118, 21 November 1940, page 3448) and on the 2nd day
of October 1940 (Gazette, No. 103, 10 October 1940, page
2601) declaring the portions of public highway in the First
Schedule hereto to be main highway, as follows:
-
The portions of public highway described in the First
Schedule hereto shall cease to be main highway. -
The portions of public highway described in the Second
Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be main highway
within the meaning and for the purposes of the National
Roads Act 1953. -
This notice shall come into force on the date of its
publication in the Gazette.

FIRST SCHEDULE
ALL that portion of main highway in Waitemata County com-
mencing from a point opposite the south-western corner of
part Allotment 15, Okura Parish, proceeding thence generally
in a north-westerly direction, and terminating at a point
opposite the north-western boundary of Lot 1, Deeds Plan
38707, being a distance of 55 chains, more or less; as the
same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 146219
deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Well-
ington, and thereon coloured green.
All that portion of main highway in the Warkworth Town
District declared as the Birkenhead–Maungaturoto Main
Highway and described in Order in Council made on the 2nd
day of October 1940, Gazette, 10 October 1940, page 2601.

SECOND SCHEDULE
ALL that portion of main highway in Waitemata County
commencing from a point opposite the south-western corner of
part Allotment 15, Okura Parish, proceeding thence generally
in a north-easterly direction, and terminating at a point op-
posite the north-western boundary of Lot 1, Deeds Plan 38707,
being a distance of 39 chains, more or less, as the same is
more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 146220 deposited
in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and
thereon coloured blue.
All that portion of main highway in the Warkworth Town
District commencing at the south-western boundary of the said
Town District, proceeding thence in a north-westerly direction
via Great North Road, Brown’s Road, and again in Great
North Road, and terminating at the northern boundary of
Warkworth Town District, being a distance of 1 mile 68
chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly
delineated on plan P.W.D. 14620 deposited in the office of the
National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured
green.

Varying Declaration of Main Highway
P
URSUANT to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953,
the National Roads Board, acting with the written approval
of the Minister of Works, hereby varies the Order in Council
made on the 2nd day of October 1940 (Gazette, No. 103, 10
October 1940, page 2601) declaring the public highway
described in the First Schedule hereto to be main highway,
as follows:
-
The portion of public highway described in the First
Schedule hereto shall be part of the Taihape–Erewhon Main
Highway and shall cease to be main highway. -
The portion of public highway described in the Second
Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be main highway within
the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act
1953 and shall be part of the Taihape–Erewhon Main
Highway. -
This notice shall come into force on the date of its
publication in the Gazette.

FIRST SCHEDULE
ALL that portion of public highway commencing at its junc-
tion with the Waiouru–Bulls State Highway adjacent to
Section 1A, Block 10, Ohinewairua Survey District, proceeding
thence generally in a northerly direction, and terminating at
a point opposite the Moawhango Post Office, being a distance
of 8 miles, more or less; as the same is more particularly
delineated on plan P.W.D. 147365 deposited in the office of the
National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured
blue.

SECOND SCHEDULE
ALL that portion of public highway commencing at its junc-
tion with the Waiouru–Bulls State Highway adjacent to
Section 23, Block 6, Ohinewairua Survey District, proceeding
generally in an easterly direction to the south-eastern boundary
of Section 2, Block 7, Ohinewairua Survey District; thence in
a northerly direction to a point opposite the southern bound-
ary of Section 13r, Awarua Block 2c 13; thence crossing the
Moawhango River, and joining the Taihape–Erewhon
Main Highway at a point opposite the Moawhango Post
Office; being a distance of 6 miles, more or less; as the same
is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 147365
deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at
Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

mencing at the south-western corner of Section 19, Block X,
Waipoua Survey District, proceeding in a northerly direction
for 1 mile 10 chains, more or less, to the north-eastern corner
of Section 20, Block X, Waipoua Survey District, thence in
a westerly direction for 1 mile 40 chains, more or less, and
terminating at the north-western corner of Section 14, Block
X, Waipoua Survey District; as the same is more particularly
delineated on plan P.W.D. 146215 deposited in the office of the
National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured
orange and green.

SECOND SCHEDULE
ALL that portion of main highway in Hobson County com-
mencing at the south-western corner of Section 19, Block X,
Waipoua Survey District, proceeding in a westerly direction,
thence in a northerly direction, and terminating at the north-
western corner of Section 14, Block X, Waipoua Survey Dis-
trict, being a distance of 2 miles 30 chains, more or less; as
the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D.
146215 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at
Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
