Duties Division Office—Masterton

NOTICE is hereby given that on and after Monday, 1 August 1955, a Duties Division Office will be established at Masterton, Academy Building, corner of Church and Queen Streets.

The area to be served by that office will be the counties of Castlepoint, Featherston, Masterton, Mauriceville, and Wairarapa South.

Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954: Proposed Cancellation of Registration of Industrial Union

PURSUANT to section 85 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954, it is hereby notified that the registration of the Dunedin Wax Vesta Employees’ Industrial Union of Workers, Registered No. 1165, situated at Dunedin, will, unless cause to the contrary is shown, be cancelled at the expiration of six weeks from the date of publication of this notice in the Gazette.

Administration of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 in the Wairewa County (Notice No. Ag. 5934)

PURSUANT to the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Director-General of Agriculture, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said Act, hereby publishes the following resolution passed by the Wairewa County Council on the 8th day of July 1955.

RESOLUTION

‘‘That the Wairewa County Council resolves in accordance with section 22 (1) of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 to assume administration of the Act within the boundaries of the Wairewa County to take effect from 1 September 1955.’’

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to Raise a Loan of £300,000 for Streets Reconstruction

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Mount Roskill taken on the 9th day of July 1955 on the proposal of the Mount Roskill Borough Council to borrow the sum of three hundred thousand pounds for the purpose of streets reconstruction in the said borough:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was …… 628
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 528

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Boundaries of Borough of Green Island, County of Taieri, and Kaikorai Riding of Taieri County Redefined

PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines as set out in the Schedule hereto the boundaries of the Borough of Green Island, the County of Taieri, and the Kaikorai Riding of the County of Taieri, the previous boundaries having been altered by an Order in Council dated 4 April 1955 and published in Gazette, 6 April 1955, No. 27, page 635.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF GREEN ISLAND

ALL that area in the Otago Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the eastern boundary of Torquay Street, being the north-western corner of Lot 43, Block II, Deeds Plan 140; thence easterly along the northern boundary of that Lot 43 and the southern boundary of Lots 36, 35, 34, and 33, Block II, Deeds Plan 140, to Gordon Street; thence easterly to the centre of Gordon Street, and generally north-easterly along the centre of the District Road on the southern boundaries of Sections 40, 42, and 60, Block VI, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, to a point in line with the centre of Townleys Road; thence south-easterly to and along the centre of Townleys Road to the south-eastern boundary of Section 45, Block VI, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence south-westerly along that boundary to the north-eastern
