Rural Sections 19311 and 20864 to the southernmost corner of Lot 42, D.P. 888; then north-easterly generally along the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 42 and 41, D.P. 888 aforesaid, the north-eastern boundary of Rural Section 20864, the north-western boundaries of Lots 21, 20, 19, and 3, D.P. 864, to the south-western side of Alford Forest Road; then north-westerly along that roadside to a point in line with the south-eastern side of Farm Road; then to and along that roadside to its intersection with the south-western side of Harrison Street; then south-easterly along the south-western side of that street and across Allens Road to the northernmost corner of Lot 20, D.P. 430; then north-easterly across Harrison Street and along the south-eastern side of Allens Road to the middle of Wakanui Stream; then south-easterly along the middle of that stream to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 155, D.P. 236; then north-easterly to and along that boundary to the south-western side of Racecourse Road; then south-easterly along that roadside to the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY OF ASHBURTON

All that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line commencing at Whitcombe Pass on the summit of the Southern Alps; then south-easterly generally to and along the middle of Louper Stream and the middle of the Rakaia River to the sea; then south-westerly to and along the mean high-water mark of the sea to the middle of the Rangitata River; then north-westerly generally along the middle of the Rangitata River to and south-westerly generally along the middle of Forest Stream to its source on the Two Thumb Range; then northerly generally along the summit of that range to Mount McClure, on the Southern Alps aforesaid; then north-easterly along the summit of the Southern Alps to the point of commencement, excluding the Borough of Ashburton hereinbefore described.

BOUNDARIES OF THE ASHBURTON RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF ASHBURTON

All that area in the County of Ashburton, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the South Island Main Trunk Railway with Windermere Road, in Block VII, Hinds Survey District; then north-easterly along the said railway to the boundary of the Borough of Ashburton, hereinbefore described; then southerly, north-easterly, north-westerly, north-easterly, and south-easterly along the boundary of the said borough to a point on the boundary of the Wakanui Riding, hereinafter described; then south-westerly and south-easterly generally along the boundary of that riding, the mean high-water mark of the sea; then south-westerly along that mean high-water mark to the mouth of the stream which enters the sea between Rural Sections 13804 and 13805; then north-westerly generally along that stream passing consecutively through Rural Section 37647, Section 5, Beach Settlement, again Rural Section 37647, Section 1, Beach Settlement, Rural Sections 13867 and 13866, to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Rural Section 21593; then north-easterly along a right line to and along that boundary, the crossing of Poplar Road and along the north-western boundaries of former Rural Sections 21592 and 11422, passing through Sections 13, 8, 5, and 4, Isleworth Settlement, to the south-western boundary of Rural Section 11421; then north-westerly generally along the south-western boundary of that Rural Section, the southern and south-western boundaries of former Rural Section 11420, passing through Sections 3, 4, and again 3, Isleworth Settlement, and along the south-western boundary of balance Rural Section 11420 to Surveyors Road; then along that road to the middle of the Hinds River; then north-westerly generally along the middle of that river to Boundary Road; then north-easterly along that road to Windermere Road; then north-westerly along that road to the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF THE UPPER ASHBURTON RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF ASHBURTON

All that area in the County of Ashburton, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the South Island Main Trunk Railway in the middle of the Hinds River; then north-westerly generally along the middle of that river to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 31100 in Block VIII, Shepherds Bush Survey District; then north-easterly to and along that boundary, the crossing of Barford Road, along Tanks Road, the crossing of Valetta-Westerfield Road, along the north-western boundaries of Rural Sections 21336, 34631, 8860, 26412, 34026, 36011, and its production to the middle of the south branch of the Ashburton River; then north-westerly generally along the middle of that river and the middle of Taylors Stream to a point in line with Earl's Road; then north-easterly to and along that road and its production to the middle of the north branch of the Ashburton River; then south-easterly generally along the middle of that river and along the middle of the dry bed thereof in Block III, Westerfield Survey District, to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Rural Section 34165; then north-easterly to and along that boundary, the crossing of Ashburton-Methven Road, along the south-eastern boundaries of Rural Sections 14992, 13999, 17535, 14000, 17537, 14001, 14994, 19972, 25911, along a right line to the intersection of Thompsons Track and Braemer Road, along Braemer Road and Lyndhurst Road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 6, Lyndhurst Settlement; then south-easterly to and along the south-western boundaries of Sections 6 and 7, Lyndhurst Settlement, and of part Rural Section 28276, the crossing of Thompsons Track, along the south-western boundary of former Rural Section 31253, now passing through Rural Sections 37621 and 37625, the crossing of Lauriston Road, along the south-western boundary of former Rural Section 30411 (now Robertsons Road), and along the south-western boundary of Rural Section 27849 to Mitcham Road; then south-westerly along that road to Dromore-Methven Road; then south-easterly along that road to the Main South Road; then north-easterly along a right line to a point on Mitcham-Chertsey Road in line with the north-western boundary of Rural Section 24262; then south-easterly along the Mitcham-Chertsey Road to the Main South Road; then north-easterly along that road to Boundary Road; then south-easterly along that road to its intersection with the South Island Main Trunk Railway, being a point on the boundary of the Wakanui Riding, hereinafter described; then south-westerly, northerly and again south-westerly along the boundary of that riding to the boundary of the Borough of Ashburton, hereinbefore described; then generally north-westerly, southerly, and south-westerly along the boundary of that borough to the South Island Main Trunk Railway; then south-westerly along that railway to the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF THE WAKANUI RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF ASHBURTON

All that area in the County of Ashburton, Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the South Island Main Trunk Railway with Boundary Road in the Town of Chertsey; then south-easterly along the said boundary road and its production to the mean high-water mark of the sea; then south-westerly along that mean high-water mark to a point in the middle of the Ashburton River; then north-westerly generally along the middle of that river to a point in line with the south-eastern side of Trevors Road, the said roadside being the south-eastern boundary of the Borough of Ashburton, hereinbefore described; then north-easterly and northerly generally to and along the boundary of the said borough to the Main South Road; then north-easterly along that road to Stanley Road; then southerly along that road to the South Island Main Trunk Railway; then north-easterly along that railway to the point of commencement.

Boundaries of City of Wanganui, County of Wanganui, and Kaukatea Riding of Wanganui County Altered

PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines as set out in the Schedule hereto the boundaries of the City of Wanganui, the County of Wanganui, and the Kaukatea Riding of the County of Wanganui the previous boundaries having been altered by an Order in Council dated 28 March 1955 and published in Gazette, 31 March 1955, No. 25, page 587.


SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF CITY OF WANGANUI

All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point being the north-eastern corner of Lot 9 as shown on the plan numbered 2223, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; then southerly along the eastern boundary of Section 30, Right Bank Wanganui River, to the right bank of the Wanganui River; then south-westerly generally down the right bank of that river to the sea, and north-westerly along the sea coast to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 461, as shown on the plan numbered 3060, deposited as aforesaid; then north-easterly to and along the north-western boundary of Lot 461 to its northernmost corner; then south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 461, 460, 459, 458, and 457, as shown on the plan numbered 3060 aforesaid, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned Lot; then along the production of the south-eastern boundary of the said Lot 457, across a public road, to the south-western boundary of Lot 519 as shown on the plan numbered 4912, deposited as aforesaid; then along the south-western and north-western boundaries of the said Lot 519 to its northernmost corner; then south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of the land shown on Plan 4912 aforesaid to the north-western boundary of Lot 1 as shown on the plan numbered 4913, deposited as aforesaid; then north-easterly and south-easterly along the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of the land shown on the plan numbered 4913 aforesaid to the north-western side of Waitai Street; then along lines bearing 145° 19', distance 1550 links, bearing 145° 23', distance 640 links; then along a line bearing 108° 31' to its intersection with the north-eastern boundary of the land shown on plans
