Declaring an Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the
Purposes of the Transport Act 1949, Section 36
———
PURSUANT to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, the
Minister of Transport hereby declares the area described
in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for
the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person
driving any motor vehicle on any road therein shall be subject
to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by
the said section.

SITUATED within Wallace County—
All that area at Mossburn consisting of that portion of the
Lumsden–Te Anau–Milford Sound Main Highway No. 134
commencing at a point 1 chain measured in a south-easterly
direction from its intersection with Essex Street proceeding
thence generally in a north-westerly direction and terminating
at a point on the said main highway measured 44 chains from
the said intersection.

Approval of Red Reflectors for Motor Vehicles in Terms of
the Traffic Regulations 1936
———
PURSUANT to clause (26) of regulation 7 and clause (10)
of regulation 16 of the Traffic Regulations 1936,* the
Minister of Transport hereby approves for the purposes of the
said regulations, red reflectors of the make and type described
in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
TAIL lamp assemblies incorporating reflex reflectors fitted as
standard equipment to Canadian Ford motor vehicles and
marked “FRST-53” or “FRST-55”.
Red reflectors fitted as standard equipment to Ford Zephyr
and Consul motor cars.
Tail lamp lenses incorporating red reflectors fitted as stan-
dard equipment to Volkswagen vehicles and marked either
“Hassia K1512” or “Hella K1495”.
Red reflectors having 2 in. diameter lenses mounted in metal
housings marked “Frese K1283”.
Red reflectors manufactured by Fairylites Ltd., England,
having 3 in. diameter lenses marked on the reverse side
“FAIRYLITE PAT. NO. 532672 BRIT MADE REGD NO.
837041”. The base ring of the metal housing is marked
“FAIRYLITE (REGD.) BRITISH MADE PAT. NO.
532872”.
Red reflectors manufactured by Bluemel Bros. Ltd., Eng-
land, having 1½ in. diameter lenses mounted in white plastic
holder marked “BLUEMEL’S No. 52, PRISMATIC”.

Town and Country Planning Act 1953—County of Whakatane
———
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, pursuant to section
20 (1) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, the
approval granted to the Whakatane County Council on the 3rd
day of June 1954 to prepare, recommend, and approve its
district scheme by two sections as described in the N.Z.
Gazette, No. 37, 17 June 1954, page 1010, has been varied,
and approval has now been granted to the Whakatane County
Council to prepare, recommend, and approve its district scheme
by three sections as follows:
(1) Kawerau Section described in the N.Z. Gazette, No. 37,
17 June 1954, page 1010.
(2) Murupara Section described in the Schedule hereto.
(3) The remainder of the County of Whakatane.

SCHEDULE
WHAKATANE COUNTY DISTRICT SCHEME (MURUPARA SECTION)
ALL that area in the Whakatane County in the South Auckland
Land District bounded by a line commencing at the south-
western corner of Karatia No. 2b 1 Block in Block IX, Galatea
Survey District, and running easterly along the southern
boundary of the said No. 2b 1 Block, crossing the intervening
Te Teko–Murupara Road, and along a right line, being that
boundary produced to the middle of the Rangitaiki River;
thence up the middle of that river and the middle of the
Whirinaki River to a point in Block XIII, Galatea Survey
District, due east of the intersection of the south-eastern
boundary of Whirinaki No. 2 No. 3b 8a Block, with the left
bank of the Whirinaki River; thence along a right line, run-
ing due west, to and along that south-eastern boundary to
the southernmost corner of the said No. 2 No. 3b 3a Block,
and along a right line through parts Whirinaki No. 2 Nos.
3b 3b, and 3b 1 Blocks, and across the Rotorua–Waikaremoana
State Highway, to the south-eastern corner of Whirinaki No. 2
No. 3a 4 Block in Block I, Ahikcruru Survey District; thence
along the southern and western boundaries of the said No. 2
No. 3a 4 Block, to and along the southern boundaries of Sec-
tions 8 and 3, the eastern, southern, and western boundaries of
Section 10, the southern boundary of Section 12, and the
southern and south-western boundaries of Section 11, the said
sections being of Block I aforesaid, and along a right line
being the last-mentioned boundary produced along the south-
western end of the river-bank reserve to the middle of the
Rangitaiki River; thence generally northerly down the middle
of that river to the intersection near the south-western corner
of Section 50, Block XIII, Galatea Survey District, with a
right line running through peg XC shown on S.O. Plan 28860,
parallel to the south-eastern boundary of Section 2, Block
XVI, Kaingaroa Survey District; thence south-westerly along
that right line to a point in line with the south-western bound-
ary of the said Section 2 and again northerly generally along
another right line, to and along the south-western and north-
western boundaries of that Section 2 to its northernmost cor-
er; thence along a right line, crossing the Rotorua–Waikare-
moana State Highway, aforesaid, to and along the
generally western boundaries of the parts of Karatia Nos.
3b 2a 2b 2, 3b 2a 2a, 3b 2b 2, 3a, and 3b 2b 2 Blocks, taken
for purposes in connection with the utilization of forest pro-
duce by Proclamation published in N.Z. Gazette, No. 12, of the
17th day of February 1955, at page 243, to and along the
western boundaries of Karatia Nos. 3b 1b, 3b 1c, 3b 1b,
3b 1a, and 2a Blocks to the south-western corner of Karatia
No. 2b 1 Block, the point of commencement, excepting thereout
the Town District of Murupara as described in N.Z. Gazette,
No. 79, of the 15th day of December 1954, at page 2032.

———
NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to section 20 of the
Town and Country Planning Act 1953, approval was
granted on 4 April 1955 to the Taranaki County Council to
prepare, recommend, and approve its district scheme by sec-
tions as follows:
(1) Combined Area Section—as described in the Schedule
hereto.
(2) Outer Area Section being the remainder of the County.

TARANAKI COUNTY DISTRICT SCHEME (COMBINED AREA
SECTION)
ALL that area situated in the Taranaki County and bounded
by a line commencing at a point on the Tasman Sea at the
mouth of the Waiongona Stream, and proceeding generally
southerly up the Waiongona Stream and the Mangawaka
Stream to the southern boundary of the Taranaki County;
thence generally westerly, northerly, and southerly along the
boundary of the Taranaki County as described in N.Z. Gazette,
No. 71, dated 23 November 1950, Vol. III, at page 2003, to
the southern boundary of Block X, Paritutu Survey District;
thence generally westerly along the southern boundaries of
Blocks X and IX, Paritutu Survey District, and generally
westerly and northerly along the southern and western boun-
daries of Block VIII, Paritutu Survey District, to the Tasman
Sea; thence generally easterly along the sea coast to the
mouth of the Waiongona Stream, being the point of com-
mencement, but excluding therefrom the City of New Ply-
mouth as defined in the N.Z. Gazette, No. 4, dated 27 January
1949, at page 109.
