Declaring Road in Block V, Russell Survey District, to be
Government Road

At the Government House at Wellington this 20th day of
July 1955

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 112 of the Public Works Act 1928,
His Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council, hereby orders and declares that the portion of road
described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date
of this Order in Council, become Government road.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road declared to be Govern-
ment road: 13 perches.

Adjoining or passing through reclaimed land (Kawakawa
River).

Situated in Block V, Russell Survey District, Auckland R.D.
(S.O. 35803.)

In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 140903
deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington,
and thereon coloured blue, edged blue.

Authorizing the Minister of Works to Construct and Maintain
Water Supply Works in the Pisa Flat Irrigation District

At the Government House at Wellington this 20th day of

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS section 274 of the Public Works Act 1928
provides that the Governor-General may, by Order in
Council, authorize the Minister of Works to construct, main-
tain, or control any water race or water supply works, either
within or outside a mining district, which are proposed to be
constructed or which have been constructed out of funds
provided by Parliament:

Now, therefore, pursuant to the said section, His Excellency
the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and con-
sent of the Executive Council, hereby authorizes the Minister
of Works to construct, maintain, and control the water supply
works described in the First Schedule hereto, and also hereby
declares that the District to be served by such water supply
works (herein referred to as the Pisa Flat Irrigation District)
shall be that defined in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

THE Pisa Flat Irrigation Works, for the irrigation of the Pisa
Flat Irrigation District (described in the Second Schedule
hereto) by means of water drawn from the Clutha River,
Locharburn and Tinwaldburn, and from any dam or dams
which are or may be constructed or acquired on the said river
and burns or their distributaries, such water being conveyed
into the said district from the Clutha River by a race known
as the Pisa Flat Main Race and from the Locharburn and
Tinwaldburn by races known as the Lochar Feeder races Nos.
1 and 2 and the Tinwald Feeder races Nos. 1 and 2 respec-
tively and by any enlargement or extension thereof or by any
other race or races constructed or acquired by the Minister
of Works in addition to or in lieu of the said water races and
any enlargement or extension thereof; the said works, includ-
ing all dams, weirs, reservoirs, tunnels, fluming, siphons, piping,
gauge boxes, and races, and all other works incidental to or
required for the construction, maintenance, and control of the
said works for the irrigation of the said Pisa Flat Irrigation
District.

SECOND SCHEDULE

PISA FLAT IRRIGATION DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Vincent County,
containing 10,780 acres, more or less, and bounded as follows:
Commencing at a point on the right bank of the Clutha River
in line with the northern boundary of Block V, Wakefield
Survey District; thence westerly to and along that boundary
to the south-eastern side of the Timaru-Cromwell via Lindis
State Highway; thence generally north-easterly along the
south-eastern side of that highway to its intersection with a
public road at the north-west corner of Section 5, Block IV,
Wakefield Survey District; thence generally north-westerly to
and along the north-eastern side of a public road forming the
south-western boundary of Section 43, Block IV, aforesaid, to
the south-eastern boundary of Section 34, Block V, Cromwell
Survey District; thence north-easterly along that boundary to
the right bank of the Small Burn; thence north-westerly along
that right bank to a point due south of the westernmost corner
of Section 46, Block IV, Wakefield Survey District; thence
due north across the Small Burn and through Section 34,
Block V, Cromwell Survey District, to the aforesaid corner on
the southern boundary of Run 650; thence generally easterly,
northerly, and easterly along the southern, eastern, and south-
ern boundaries of Run 650 in Block I, Wakefield Survey
District, to a corner approximately 138 chains east of the
western boundary of Block I, Wakefield Survey District;
thence north-easterly to the junction of the eastern boundary
of Run 630 and the southern boundary of Block II, Tarras
Survey District; thence northerly and generally north-easterly
along the eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Run 630 to
the south-western side of Crown Water Race, Licence number
1263; thence generally north-westerly along the south-western
sides of the said water race to its intake on the Lochar Burn;
thence across Lochar Burn and to the intake of Smiths Water
Race, Licence number 4142; thence generally southerly and
north-easterly along the eastern and north-western sides of the
said water race to the western boundary of Block III, Tarras
Survey District; thence northerly and easterly along western
and northern boundaries of the said Block III to the western
side of the Timaru-Cromwell via Lindis State Highway; thence
generally northerly along the western side of the said State
highway to a point in line with the north-eastern side of a
public road through Section 8, Block IX, and Section 1A,
Block 111, Tarras Survey District; thence generally south-
easterly and north-easterly to and along the north-eastern and
north-western sides of the said public road, across another
public road to northern side thereof, forming part of the
southern boundary of Block IX, Tarras Survey District; thence
westerly and southerly along the southern and western boun-
daries of the said Block IX, to and across a road reserve to
the right bank of the Clutha River; thence generally southerly
along the right bank of Clutha River to the point of com-
mencement.

As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 147102 deposited in the office of the Minister
of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Authorizing the Laying Off of a Street Off Westminster Street
in the City of Christchurch, Subject to a Condition as to the
Building Line

July 1955

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 186 of the Municipal Corporations Act
1954 and section 125 of the Public Works Act 1928, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorizes the
Christchurch City Council to permit the laying off of the
proposed street described in the Schedule hereto at a width for
part of its length of less than 66 ft., but not less than 50 ft.,
subject to the condition that no building or part of a building
shall at any time be erected on the land shown edged green on
the plan marked P.W.D. 147121 referred to in the said
Schedule, within a distance of 40 ft. from the centre line of the
said street.

SCHEDULE

THAT proposed street in the Canterbury Land District, City of
Christchurch, containing by admeasurement 3 roods 23·5
perches, more or less, being part Lot 52, D.P. 14163, being
part Rural Sections 2256 and 2795.

As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 147121 deposited in the office of the Minister
of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
