Tripp Settlement, and its production to the middle of the Orari
River, and along the middle of that river to a point in line
with a public road forming the southern boundary of Rural
Section 52299; thence easterly generally to and along that road,
Boundary Road, the northern boundaries of Rural Sections
32693 and 26100, Bridge Road, Arandel Road, across the
Rangitata River and along the last-mentioned road to its
intersection with Rangitata River Road; thence south-easterly
generally along that road, Ealing—Coldstream Road and Finds—

and its production to the sea coast; thence south-westerly

At the Government House at Wellington this 20th day of
July 1955

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928, His Excel-
lency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes
the following order.


ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Ophihi Rabbit District
    Order 1955.

(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the
date of its notification in the Gazette.

  1. The boundaries of the Ophihi Rabbit District, which was
    constituted by Order in Council on the 22nd day of September
    1943,* are hereby altered and redefined; and as from the
    commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district
    shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE OPHIHI RABBIT DISTRICT

All that area in the Counties of Geraldine, Levels, and
Mackenzie, Canterbury Land District, containing 101,700 acres,
more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point at
the junction of Gudex Road and Cattle Valley Road (Main
Highway 116), Block V, Ophihi Survey District; thence north-
easterly and south-easterly generally along Cattle Valley
Road (Main Highway 116), Beautiful Valley Road (Main
Highway 116), and continuing along Main Highway 116 to
its junction with Howes Road; thence north-easterly generally
along that road and Gapes Valley Road to its junction with
Wells Road; thence north-easterly generally along the last-
mentioned road, a public road forming the eastern boundaries
of Rural Sections 19439, 23984, and 6872, Fenns Road, a public
road forming the north-western boundary of Rural Section
20182, across the Hae Hae Te Moana River, along a public road
forming the south-eastern boundary of Reserve 2703, and
McKeowns Road to its junction with Bayleys Road; thence
easterly generally along that road and Raes Road to its
junction with Taylors Road; thence southerly generally along
that road, Martins Road, Guifords Road, a public road
forming the northern boundary of Rural Section 12840, Youngs
Road, Pyes Road, Geraldine and Pleasant Valley Road, Burkes
Road, Chapmans Road, a public road forming the western
boundary of Rural Section 10147, Boundary Road, and a
public road passing through Rural Section 7160 and Winchester
Settlement and forming the western boundary of Rural Section
11474 to the left bank of the Hae Hae Te Moana River; thence
southerly generally along the left bank of that river and the
left bank of the Tenuka River to the Main South Road; thence

south-westerly along that road to its junction with the Point—
Arrowhenna Main Highway; thence westerly generally along
that main highway to its junction with Builders Road; thence
north-westerly generally along that road, the north-eastern
boundary of Reserve 1580 (Pleasant Point Domain) and its
production to the north-western boundary of Rural Section
10174, along that boundary, the southern and western bound-
aries of Lot 1 D.P. 5594, the southern boundary of Rural
Section 16698 to and along a right line parallel to and 5 chains
distant from the eastern side of Halsted Road, to a public
road forming the northern boundary of the last-mentioned
rural section; thence westerly generally along that road, the
crossing of Iladsted Road and the southern boundaries of Lots
2 and 1, D.P. 4427, to Picaunt Point—Fairlie Main Highway;
thence north-westerly along that main highway to the north-
western boundary of Rural Section 6331; thence south-westerly
along that boundary to and south-easterly along a right line
parallel to and 20 chains distant from the eastern side of
Mazes Road, to and south-westerly along the south-eastern
boundary of Rural Section 6531 to Mazes Road and south-
easterly generally along that road to Pleasant Point to Cave Main
Road; thence south-westerly along that road to its junction
with a public road intersecting Rural Section 34506, Block V,
Parcora Survey District; thence northerly generally along that
road, to and across Clelands Bridge over the Tengawai River,
to and along Zig Zag Road, Clelands Road, westerly along
Moa Pass Road and northerly along Sterndale Valley Road
to its junction with Timewells Road; thence north-westerly
generally along that road, Mowats Road, a public road forming
the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 21103, the north-
eastern, south-eastern, north-eastern, and north-western bound-
aries of that rural section and the north-eastern boundary of
Rural Section 19467 to Three Mile Bush Road; thence north-
easterly generally along that road, Hazelburn Road and its
production to the middle of the Ophihi River; thence north-
westerly generally along the middle of that river, to and along
Raincliff Bridge, Pleasant Point—Fairlie Main Highway and
Gudex Road to its junction with Cattle Valley Road, the
point of commencement.

All that area in the Counties of Geraldine and Mackenzie,
Canterbury Land District, containing 235,000 acres, more or
less, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of
the Orari River in line with the north-western boundary of
Section 1, Tripp Settlement, Block V, Orari Survey District;
thence south-westerly generally to and along that boundary,
Orari Gorge Road, a public road forming the southern bound-
ary of Section 2, Tripp Settlement, Bairds Road, a public
road forming the western boundary of Section 10, Tripp
Settlement, to and along the middle of the Waihi River, to
and along Ribys Road to Waihi Bush Road; thence south-
easterly generally along that road and Woodbury Road to its
junction with Raes Road; thence westerly along that road
and Bayleys Road to its junction with McKeowns Road; thence
south-westerly generally along that road, a public road forming
the south-eastern boundary of Reserve 2703, across the Hae Hae
Te Moana River, along a public road forming the north-
western boundary of Rural Section 20182, Fenns Road, a

Michael Road; thence north-westerly generally along that road,
Clayton Road, across the South Opuha River and along the
left bank of that river to Plantation Road; thence north-
easterly generally along that road and its production to the
