road reserve along the summit watershed between Meggat
Burn and Waipori River to the south-eastern boundary of

Lake; thence easterly and south-westerly along the north and
south-eastern shores of that lake to the Waipori River again
at the western boundary of Block VI, Maungatua Survey Dis-

the Taieri River; thence south-easterly along the centre of the
Taieri River to the point of commencement: excluding the
Boroughs of Kaitangata and Milton and that portion of the

BOUNDARIES OF THE MATAU RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF BRUCE
All that area in the Otago Land District bounded as follows:
Commencing at a point in the centre of the Dunedin-Gore
State Highway in line with the northern boundary of Sections
1 of 14, 15, 16, 8, and 7, Block VI, Hillend Survey District;
thence easterly to and along the northern boundary of the
Sections aforesaid, across a public road, and along the north-
ern boundary of Section 3, Block X, South Tuakiototo Survey
District, and that boundary produced to Tuakitoto Lake; thence
generally southerly along the western sides of Tuakitoto and
Kaitangata Lakes to the Borough of Kaitangata; thence south-
westerly, south-easterly, and north-easterly along the north west-
ern, south-western, and south-eastern boundaries of the Borough
of Kaitangata, as described in New Zealand Gazette 1887, folio
1038, to the centre of the Matsa Branch of the Clutha River;
thence generally southerly along the centre of the Matsa
Branch of the Clutha River to its confluence with the Koau
Branch of the Clutha River; thence generally north-westerly
along the centre of the Koau Branch of the Clutha River to
the south-eastern boundary of the Borough of Balclutha as
herein previously described; thence northerly generally along
that boundary to the centre of the Dunedin-Gore State High-
way; thence generally north-easterly along the centre of the
Dunedin-Gore State Highway to the point of commencement.
BOUNDARIES OF BALMORAL NO. 2 RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF BRUCE
All that area in the Otago Land District bounded as follows:
Commencing at a point in the centre of the Clutha River at its
confluence with the Waitahuna River; thence generally north-
erly along the centre of the Waitahuna River to a point in
line with the south-western boundary of Block VI, Waitahuna
East Survey District; thence south-easterly along the south-
western boundary of the said Block VI, and part of Block IV,
Waitahuna East Survey District, to the north-western corner
of Original Section 26, Block IX, Waitahuna East Survey
District; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of the
said Original Section 26, across a public road, and along
the eastern boundary of Original Section 27, Block IX afore-
said, to and across the Blackburn Mount Stuart Road to a
point on the south-eastern side; thence north-easterly along
the south-eastern side of the Blackburn Mount Stuart Road to
its intersection with the north-western side of the Hillend
Mount Stuart Road; thence generally southerly along the
western side of the Hillend Mount Stuart Road and Stony
Creek-Hillend Main Highway to its junction with the
Dunedin-Gore State Highway; thence south-easterly to a
point in the centre of the Dunedin-Gore State Highway;
thence generally southerly and westerly along the centre line of
the Dunedin-Gore State Highway to the Borough of Balclutha;
thence north-westerly, north-easterly, north-westerly, westerly
generally, and southerly along the north-eastern, south-eastern,
north-eastern, northern, and western boundaries of the Borough
of Balclutha as herein previously described to the centre of
the Clutha River; thence generally north-westerly by the
centre of the Clutha River to the point of commencement.

Boundaries of City of Christchurch, County of Heathcote,
Cashmere Riding of County of Heathcote, County of Hals-
well, and Number 1 and Number 2 Ridings of County of
Halswell Redefined
PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations
Act 1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines
as set out in the Schedule hereto the boundaries of the City of
Christchurch, the County of Heathcote, the County of Halswell, and the Number 1 and Number 2 Ridings of the County of Halswell, the previous boundaries having been altered by an Order in
Council dated 8 February 1955 and published in Gazette, 17
February 1955, No. 12, page 247.

BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a
line commencing at a point on the low-water mark of the sea
(Pegasus Bay) in line with the middle of Beach Road; thence
southerly along the low-water mark of the sea to a point in
line with the north-western boundary of Reserve 224; thence
along a right line in a south-easterly direction to the northern-
most corner of the land in certificate of title, Volume 430,
f01io 216, Canterbury Registry, being the land described in
section 108 of the Reserves and Other Lands Disposal and
Public Bodies Empowering Act 1919; thence in a south-
easterly direction along the north-eastern boundary of the said
land and its production to the mean high-water mark of the
sea; thence generally south-easterly along the mean high-water
mark of the sea to Godley Head; thence south-westerly gen-
erally along the mean high-water mark of the Lyttelton Harbour
to a point due south of the Trig. Station M.M., being a point
