PURSUANT to section 29 of the Finance Act (No. 2) 1945, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares the undertaking at Wairakei for the use of geothermal energy in the production of heavy water and by-products and in the generation of electrical energy to be a public work for the purposes of the Public Works Act 1928.

PURSUANT to the Cemeteries Act 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.


O R D E R

  1. This order may be cited as the Oruaiti Cemetery Order 1955.
  2. The powers of appointing and removing trustees for the Oruaiti Cemetery, being the area described in the Schedule hereto, are hereby delegated to the Mangonui County Council.

Validating Proceedings in Connection With the Glencoe Rabbit Board’s Loan of £5,000

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 29th day of June 1955

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the Glencoe Rabbit Board is proceeding by way of special order to raise a loan of five thousand pounds to be known as Housing Loan No. 1 1951 (hereinafter called the said loan):
And whereas the proceedings in connection with the said loan were irregular or defective in that two public notifications in respect of the raising of the said loan as required by paragraph (b) of the definition of the expression ‘‘special order’’ contained in section 2 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, as amended by section 2 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act 1951, although given twice with an interval of not less than fourteen days between each, were not given within a period of twenty-eight days immediately preceding the date of the subsequent meeting confirming the resolution to raise the said loan:
And whereas it appears that the ratepayers of the district have not been misled by such irregularity or defect as aforesaid and it is expedient to validate the same:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 122 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though the said public notifications had been correctly given, and that the validity of the proceedings in connection with the said loan, or of the security for the said loan, shall not be called in question by reason only of the irregularity or defect aforesaid.
