Pursuant to section 16 of the New Zealand Army Act
1950, His Excellency the Governor-General has been
pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions,
transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New
Zealand Army:
THE ARMY BOARD
Brigadier F. M. H. Hanson, C.B.E., D.S.O., M.M., E.D.,
relinquishes the appointment of Associate Member of the Army
Board, and is posted to the Retired List. Dated 30 April 1955.
Brigadier M. C. Fairbrother, D.S.O., O.B.E., E.D., 2nd
Infantry Brigade, is appointed Associate Member of the Army
Board. Dated 1 May 1955.
HONORARY NURSING SISTER TO HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN
With reference to the notice published in the N.Z. Gazette,
May 1955, No. 32, page 738, relative to Matron-in-Chief D.

4th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) B. J. Dwyer
ceases. Dated 17 May 1955.
5th Composite Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A.
Captain A. W. Coutts, E.D., is transferred to the Reserve of
Officers, Regimental List, 13th Composite Anti-Aircraft Regi-
ment, R.N.Z.A., with the rank of Captain, with seniority from
April 1952. Dated 26 April 1955.
Captain F. Rogers, E.D., is transferred to the Reserve of
Officers, Regimental List, 13th Composite Anti-Aircraft Regi-
ment, R.N.Z.A., with the rank of Captain, with seniority from
1 October 1953, and remains attached to the Auckland Gram-
mar School Cadets. Dated 26 April 1955.

The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own)
2nd Lieutenant D. W. Featherston, 1st Battalion, is trans-
ferred to the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment.

The Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington’s Own)
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) E. D. Abbott,
1st Battalion, lapses, and he reverts to the ranks. Dated 19
April 1955.
The Canterbury Regiment
2nd Lieutenant D. M. Withell, 1st Battalion, to be Lieu-
tenant. Dated 15 April 1955.
The Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment
Major P. J. Rogers, from the Retired List, to be Captain,
with seniority from 1 August 1950, and is posted to the 1st
Battalion. Dated 30 April 1955.
Lieutenant D. L. Macbeath, 1st Battalion, is posted to the
Retired List. Dated 31 March 1955.
2nd Lieutenant D. W. Featherston, from the Auckland
Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), to be 2nd Lieutenant,
with seniority from 11 October 1953, and is posted to the 1st
