Directing Sale of Railway Land at Kirwee Under the Public Works Act 1928

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 26th day of April 1955

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the public work for which it was taken.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land directed to be sold: 2 roods 21·7 perches.

Being railway land being part Reserve 1301.

Situated in Block XII, Hawkins Survey District, Malvern County. (S.O. 8803.)

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 13332 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Railways Commission at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the common use or benefit of the members of the Ngati Hikairo tribe, for the purposes of a burial ground.

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto for the common use and benefit of the members of the Whanauakai Tribe as a Maori reservation for the purposes of a meeting place.

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby revokes an Order in Council made on 24 January 1945 and published in the Gazette, 1 February 1945, Vol. I, page 85, setting apart the Repongaere 4D 1B 1 Block as a Maori reservation.

Revoking an Order in Council Prohibiting All Alienations of Certain Maori Land Other Than Alienations in Favour of the Crown

PURSUANT to section 254 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby revokes an Order in Council made on 1 May 1933 and published in the Gazette, 4 May 1933, Vol. II, page 1223, prohibiting all alienations of the Maori land known as Hautu 1B 1B 2B 1 and other blocks, other than alienations in favour of the Crown.

Investment of £10,300 of the Bluff Harbour Board Funds

PURSUANT to section 53 of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorizes the Bluff Harbour Board to invest in the debentures of the Taranaki Harbour Board the sum of £5,800 from its Plant Renewals Reserve Fund to mature on the 16th day of February 1965, the sum of £1,500 from its Fire, Marine and Accident Insurance Reserve Fund to mature on the same date, and the sum of £3,000 from its Office Building Reserve Fund to mature on the 16th day of February 1959.

Being Lot 2, D.P. 1007, being part of Block A of Whataupoko No. 6 Block, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 64, folio 78, Gisborne Land Registry.

Situated in the Borough of Gisborne.
