A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as road the land described in the First Schedule hereto; and also hereby proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto.

Crown Land Set Apart for Railway Purposes at Waitara

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for railway purposes; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 12th day of April 1955.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of Crown land set apart: 28·4 perches.

Being Lot 1, D.P. 7412, being part Section 7, Block LXX, Town of Waitara West, being part of the land in Proclamation 1954, and being part of the land formerly comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 152, folio 234, Taranaki Land Registry.

Situated in the Borough of Waitara.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 31st day of March 1955.

Allocating Land Taken for a Railway to the Purposes of a Road

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 226 of the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road; and that the said road shall be under the control of the Malvern County Council and shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Council.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land: 3·4 perches.

Being railway land being part Reserve 1301.

Situated in Block XII, Hawkins Survey District, Malvern County. (S.O. 8803.)

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked I.O. 13322 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Railways Commission at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

Boundaries of Borough of Green Island and County of Taieri Altered

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 4th day of April 1955

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 137 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1933, a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying that certain areas of land be excluded from the County of Taieri and included in the Borough of Green Island:

And whereas, pursuant to section 15 of the Local Government Commission Act 1953, the said petition was referred to the Local Government Commission:

And whereas, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, the Local Government Commission has approved as final a scheme bearing date the 25th day of January 1955 providing for the exclusion of the areas described in the Schedule to the said scheme from the County of Taieri and the inclusion of those areas in the Borough of Green Island:

And whereas it is deemed expedient to give effect to the final scheme as hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the areas described in the Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the County of Taieri and included in the Borough of Green Island, and with the like advice and consent, hereby also declares that the alteration of boundaries of the said county and the said borough hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1934.

SCHEDULE

AREAS EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF TAIERI AND INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF GREEN ISLAND

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Taieri County and Kaikorai Riding, containing 208 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the eastern boundary of Torquay Street, being the north-western corner of Lot 43, Block II, Deeds Plan 140; thence easterly along the northern boundary of that Lot 43 and the southern boundary of Lots 36, 35, 34, and 33, Block II, Deeds Plan 140, to Gordon Street, thence easterly to the centre of Gordon Street, and generally north-easterly along the centre of the District Road on the southern boundaries of Sections 40, 42, and 60, Block VI, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, to a point in line with the centre of Townleys Road; thence south-easterly to and along the centre of Townleys Road to the south-eastern boundary of Section 45, Block VI, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence south-westerly along that boundary to the southernmost corner of that Section; thence generally westerly along the northern boundary of the Borough of Green Island as described in New Zealand Gazette 1951, page 1104, to the point of commencement.
