APPLICATION FOR LICENCE FOR A WATER-RACE

UNDER THE MINING ACT 1926

NOTICE is hereby given that Bertie Arnold Vercoe, of Queenstown, Civil Servant, for and on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, will apply to the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Cromwell, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, on Wednesday the 20th day of April 1955, for a licence for a water race to divert half a head of water from each of two intakes situated on Crown lands, Part Lot 6, P.W.D. Plan 4882 (being two of the sources of Bullock Creek, Pom-broke), for industrial, domestic, and fish hatchery purposes. Objections must be filed in the office of the Mining Registrar, Cromwell, and notified to applicant, whose address for service is at the office of Brodriek and Parcell, Solicitors, Melmore Street, Cromwell, at least three days before the above-mentioned time of hearing.

LOWER HUTT CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Drainage Loan 1955, £15,000

THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Lower Hutt City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of fifteen thousand pounds (£15,000) authorized to be raised by the Lower Hutt City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of carrying out drainage works, the said Lower Hutt City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one hundred and eighty thousandths of a penny (0·180d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property in the City of Lower Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on or about the first day of August in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Lower Hutt City Council held on the 28th day of February 1955.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Abattoir Improvements Loan 1954, £33,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments, and all other powers it in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of thirty-three thousand pounds (£33,000) authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of altering present building, erecting new building, and supplying and installing beef and mutton chillers at Christchurch City Abattoir at Sockburn, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of forty-seven thousand five hundred and seventeen/one million two hundred and fifty thousandths of a penny (47517/1250000d.) in the pound (£0·00015839) on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand during the currency of the said loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The Christchurch City Council at a meeting held on the 14th day of March 1955 passed the above resolution.
