Notice of Intention to Take Additional Land in Block II, Oeo Survey District, for a Public School

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the additional land described in the Schedule hereto for a public school; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Pihama and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of the land, set forth the same in writing, and send the writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Queenstown Aerodrome

In the matter of the Public Works Amendment Act 1935, and in the matter of the Queenstown Aerodrome in the Otago Land District.

THE Minister of Works, pursuant to section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1935, hereby gives notice that for the purpose of making the Queenstown Aerodrome safe for aviation purposes he prohibits the erection, placing, or extension, without his consent, of any building, pole, mast, or other structure of any kind, and the growing of trees or shrubs of any kind on the land described in the Schedule hereto beyond a height of 15 ft. above the level of the formed portion of the road adjacent to the eastern boundary of the said land, such road being known as the Queenstown–Invercargill State Highway, nearest that portion of the said land upon which any building, pole, mast, or other structure is proposed to be erected, placed, or extended, or upon which any tree or shrub is proposed to be grown or is allowed to grow.

ALL that piece of land containing approximately 2 acres 3 roods 34 perches, situated in the Otago Land District, being Sections 1 to 12 inclusive, Block XII, Town of Frankton, such land being shown by a red border on the plan marked P.W.D. 145695 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington.

PURSUANT to the Fire Services Act 1949, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby gives notice of the following results of the elections held on the 22nd day of February 1955 by the fire-insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand to fill extraordinary vacancies on the Marton Fire Committee and the Wanganui Fire Board:

Marton Fire Committee — L. M. Miller.

Import Control Exemption Notice 1955

PURSUANT to regulation 15 of the Import Control Regulations 1938,* the Minister of Customs hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice 1955.
    (2) This notice shall come into force on the 11th day of March 1955.

  2. Goods of the class specified in the First Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country other than the countries specified in the Second Schedule hereto, are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.


FIRST SCHEDULE
Tariff Item No.: Ex 204.
Class of Goods: Toilet sets consisting of toilet articles and/or brushes packed in a case which is fitted with a handle securely attached for permanent use and which, if imported empty, would be classed under Tariff item 204.
Revokes decision in Gazette No. 79, of 11 October 1951.

W. Mudford, the result of the poll held on the 24th day of February 1955 was as follows:

Gas Works Purchase Loan 1954

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the City of Timaru taken on the 23rd day of February 1955 on the proposal of the Timaru City Council to borrow the sum of fifty thousand pounds for purchasing the gas undertaking of the Timaru Gas, Coal, and Coke Company Limited:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 2,553.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 639.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
