BOROUGH OF PICTON

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Fire Station Loan 1955, £2,500

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it on that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Council of
the Borough of Picton doth hereby resolve as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of two thousand five hundred pounds
(£2,500), authorized to be raised by the Picton Borough
Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of
meeting additional costs of converting a building purchased
for a fire station, the said Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of one-fifth of one penny (3d.) in the pound
on the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property
within the Borough of Picton, which, if required, shall be
appropriated as security for the purpose of the payment of
interest and principal of the said loan; and that such special
rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand
in each and every year during the currency of the said loan,
being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully
paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a
meeting of the Picton Borough Council held on the 17th day
of February 1955.

COUNTY OF ASHBURTON

THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PURSUANT to the Town and Country Planning Regulations
1954, public notice is hereby given that the district
scheme under the Town and Country Planning Act 1953,
known as the Ashburton Extra Urban Planning Scheme No. 1,
covering that portion of the County adjacent to the Ashburton
Borough, was approved by the Council by resolution passed
at its meeting held on the 18th day of February 1955 after
all objections, appeals, and arbitrations relating to the scheme
had been disposed of and the scheme had been amended to
give effect to all objections and appeals allowed, and all
variations of the scheme required by the Town and Country
Appeal Board had been incorporated.

The Council has also resolved that the scheme shall come
into operation on the 1st day of March 1955.

A copy of the scheme as approved has been deposited at
the Council’s office, Baring Square, Ashburton, and may be
inspected (without fee) by any person who so requires during
office hours.

THE WESTLAND CATCHMENT BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Offices and Garages Loan 1954, £5,500

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the West-
land Catchment Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £5,500, authorized to be raised by the
Westland Catchment Board under the above-mentioned Act
for the purpose of erecting Board offices, garages, and store
on the Board’s property in Greymouth, the said Westland
Catchment Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of
decimal nought one of a penny (0·01d.) in the pound upon the
rateable value of all rateable property in the Westland
Catchment Board’s district on the basis of the capital value
of such property; and that such special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and
be payable yearly on the 7th day of October in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy
of a resolution duly passed by the Westland Catchment Board
at a special meeting of the Board held on the 21st day of
February 1955.

TIMARU CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Timaru
City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other
charges on the Gasworks Purchase Loan 1954, of £50,000,
authorized to be raised by the Timaru City Council under the
above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing from the
Timaru Gas, Coal and Coke Company Limited the Gas Under-
taking owned by the Company, the said Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of 0·3363d. in the pound upon the
whole amount of unimproved value of all rateable property
in the whole of the City of Timaru, and such special rate to be
an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan
and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five
(25) years, or until such loan is fully paid off.”

NOTICE is hereby given that an order of the Supreme
Court of New Zealand (Wanganui Registry), dated the
4th day of February 1955, confirming the reduction of the
capital of the above-named company from £8,712 to £5,445,
and the minute approved by the Court showing, with respect
to the capital of the company, as altered, the several par-
ticulars required by the above statute, was registered by the
Registrar of Companies on the 15th day of February 1955.
