Waihi Swamp Drainage Area—Penalty on Overdue Rates

PURSUANT to section 76 of the Rating Act 1925 and the Swamp Drainage Act 1915 and its amendments, the ratepayers within the Waihi Drainage Area are hereby notified that 10 per cent additional will be added to all rates for the year ending 31 March 1955, unpaid on 15 March 1955.
Rates may be paid at any money-order office or to the Collector of Rates, Lands and Survey Department, P.O. Box 2205, Auckland C.1.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him while he is under the age of eighteen years to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block X, Grey Survey District, for State Forest Purposes

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928 and section 15 of the Forests Act 1949 to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for State forest purposes; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Sefton and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
