Crown Land Set Apart as Permanent State Forest Land

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 18 of the Forests Act 1949, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as permanent State forest land.

SCHEDULE
NELSON LAND DISTRICT—NELSON CONSERVANCY
ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, Waimea County, containing by admeasurement 1,130 acres, more or less, and being Sections 4 and 6, Block VIII, Gordon Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 108/84, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (S.O. Plan 7394.)
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 11th day of February 1955.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT—SOUTHLAND CONSERVANCY
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, Wallace County, containing by admeasurement 831 acres 2 roods, more or less, and being Section 18, Block I, Lillburn Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 200/88, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (S.O. Plans 4410 and 5093.)
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 11th day of February 1955.

Declaring Land in Waimea County, Nelson Acolimatisation District, to be a Wildlife Refuge

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a wildlife refuge for the purposes of the said Act.

SCHEDULE
ALL those areas of land in the Nelson Land District, Waimea County, containing together 400 acres and 15·8 perches, more or less, and being more particularly described as follows:
All that area of land containing by admeasurement 40 acres 3 roods 32 perches, more or less, being part Section 27, and accretion thereto, District of Waimea South, Crown land and river bed, situated in Blocks V, VI, and X, Waimea Survey District, and being all the land coloured blue, sepia, and orange on Nelson S.O. Plan 9732.
Also that area of land containing 17 acres 3 roods 33·6 perches, more or less, being part Lot 1 on plan No. 3711 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Nelson, and being part of Section 135, District of Waimea East, situated in Block VI, Waimea Survey District, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 114, folio 43, Nelson Registry.
Also all that area of land containing by admeasurement 63 acres 3 roods 14·3 perches, more or less, being Section 226 and Lots 2, 3, and 4 on plan No. 3711 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Nelson, and being parts of Section 135 and part of Sections 137, 138, and 172, District of Waimea East, situated in Blocks VI and X, Waimea Survey District, and being all the land comprised and described in certificates of title, Volume 105, folio 76, and Volume 106, folio 206, Nelson Registry.
Also all that area of land containing 187 acres 1 rood, more or less, being Section 27A and part of Sections 27 and 30, District of Waimea South, situated in Blocks V and IX, Waimea Survey District, and being all the land comprised and described in certificates of title, Volume 16, folio 444, and Volume 62, folio 49, Nelson Registry, excepting thereout that part of the certificate of title contained in Nelson Survey Office Plan No. 9732.
Also all that area of land containing 90 acres and 15·9 perches, more or less, being part of Sections 30, 31, and 33, District of Waimea South, situated in Block IX, Waimea Survey District, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 102, folio 212, Nelson Registry, excepting thereout that part of the certificate of title containing in the scheme plan No. 523, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Nelson.
As the same are more particularly delineated on a plan deposited in the office of the Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Boundaries of Borough of Balclutha and County of Bruce Altered

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 15th day of February 1955
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 137 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1933, a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying that a certain area of land be excluded from the County of Bruce and included in the Borough of Balclutha:
And whereas, pursuant to section 15 of the Local Government Commission Act 1953, the said petition was referred to the Local Government Commission:
And whereas, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, the Local Government Commission has approved as final a scheme bearing date the 7th day of October 1954, providing for the exclusion of the area described in the Schedule to the said scheme from the County of Bruce and the inclusion of that area in the Borough of Balclutha:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to give effect to the final scheme as hereinbefore appearing:
Now, therefore, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that as on and from the 1st day of April 1955 the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the County of Bruce and included in the Borough of Balclutha, and with the like advice and consent hereby also declares that the alteration of the boundaries of the said county and the said borough hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

AREA EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF BRUCE AND INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF BALCLUTHA
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, the County of Bruce, and the Matau and Balmoral No. 2 Ridings, containing 258 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Section 1, Block XXVI, Town of Balclutha; thence due north along a right line through Section 31A, Barnego Settlement, to and across Johnson Road; thence generally easterly along the northern side of Johnson Road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 15, Block XVII, Town of Balclutha; thence south-easterly to and along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 15, 21, 22, and 23, Block XVII aforesaid, and south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of section 23 to the westernmost corner of Section 24, Block XVII aforesaid; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of that Section to the Dunedin-Gore State Highway; thence across that highway at right angles and south-westerly along its south-eastern side to the eastern boundary of Section 28, Block XVII, Town of Balclutha; thence southerly and westerly along the eastern and southern boundaries of Section 28 aforesaid and southerly along the eastern boundary of Section 43 to the north-western boundary of Deposited Plan 2877; thence south-westerly, north-westerly, and again south-westerly along the north-western, north-eastern, and north-western boundaries of Deposited Plan 2877 to its north-western corner; thence generally north-westerly along the north-eastern and northern boundaries of the Borough of Balclutha, as described in New Zealand Gazette 1948 at page 984, to the north-western corner of Section 1, Block XXVI, Town of Balclutha, the point of commencement.
