Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Tuparoa Development Scheme)

Pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 12 September 1931 and published in the Gazette on 17 September 1931, page 2822.

Notice to Mariners No. 95 (Temporary) of 1954

LIGHTS IN WESTERN SAMOA—UNRELIABLE

Mariners are advised that all navigational lights in Western Samoa group except Vaea and Mulivai leading lights at Apia are extinguished until normal supply of gas cylinders can be arranged.
Charts temporarily affected: 1339, 1730, 1829.

NEW ZEALAND—METEOROLOGY—MARINE WEATHER BROADCASTS

Alteration in Code

Mariners are advised that in accordance with a decision of the Executive Committee of the World Meteorological Organization the following changes to the International Weather Reporting Code will come into effect throughout the World at 0000 hours G.M.T. on 1 January 1955:
Ship Code—The symbolic form of the ships code will be unchanged:

The specifications of the symbols (W) and (a) are altered.
Land Code (abbreviated):
Old form: iiiTdTd Nddff VVwwW PPPTT NhCLCMCH (6japp)
New form: (II)iii Nddff VVwwW PPPTT NhCLCMCH (TdTdapp)
The first group will be three figures only—the present index number of the station. The Block No. (II) will not be used. The specifications of the code symbols (VV) (W) and (a) are altered.
