CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Vehicle Testing Station Loan 1954, £10,250

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments and all other powers it in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of ten thousand two hundred and fifty pounds (£10,250) authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of extending the Council’s vehicle testing station, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of four hundred and ninety-six thousand and twenty-one twenty-five millionths of a penny (496,021/25,000,000d.) in the pound (£0·00008267) on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand during the currency of the said loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

The Christchurch City Council at a meeting held on the 22nd day of November 1954 passed the above resolution.

WAITOMO ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Reticulation Loan 1954 of £20,000

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act 1951, and all other Acts and powers it enabling, the Waitomo Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £20,000 (twenty thousand pounds), authorized to be raised by the Waitomo Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of providing for extensions and additions to the existing reticulation system and otherwise providing for the distribution of electrical energy throughout the Waitomo Electric Power District, the Waitomo Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of nineteen-fiftieths of a penny (¹⁹/₅₀d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Waitomo Electric Power District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

Building Completion Loan 1954 of £10,000

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act 1951, and all other Acts and powers it enabling, the Waitomo Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £10,000 (ten thousand pounds), authorized to be raised by the Waitomo Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of providing for the completion of office accommodation to the Board’s premises, King Street, Te Kuiti, the Waitomo Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of nineteen-hundredths of a penny (¹⁹/₁₀₀d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Waitomo Electric Power District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

MANAWATU CATCHMENT BOARD

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR THE PURPOSES OF SOIL CONSERVATION AND RIVER CONTROL

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and its amendments, and in the matter of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941 and its amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Manawatu Catchment Board intends to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, the following lands required for the purposes of soil conservation and river control:

All those parcels of land situate in the Provincial District of Wellington containing 14 acres 2 roods, being part of Rural Section 393, Township of Palmerston North, being also Lot 5 on Land Transfer Plan No. 16732, and being part of the land comprised in certificates of title, Volume 54, folio 80, and Volume 54, folio 81, and part of Rural Section 393, Township of Palmerston North, being also Lot 8 on Land Transfer Plan No. 16732, and being the balance of the land in certificate of title, Volume 271, folio 131.

A plan of the said lands is deposited at the public office of the Manawatu Catchment Board in Manson and Barr’s Building, Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North, and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said lands are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, and to send such writing within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice to the Secretary of the Manawatu Catchment Board, Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North.

NOTICE is hereby given that ‘‘Ashby Brothers Contractors Limited’’ has changed its name to ‘‘Ashby Brothers (C.H.B.) Limited’’, and that the new name was this day entered on my Register of Companies in place of the former name.

NOTICE is hereby given that on the 19th day of November 1954 the following resolution was passed by entry in the minute book of the above-named company pursuant to section 300 of the Companies Act 1933:

‘‘Resolved by special resolution that the company be wound up voluntarily; that M. S. Burley, Accountant, of Auckland, be and is hereby appointed liquidator of the company.’’

I, MAURICE STANLEY BURLEY, Accountant, of Auckland, being the liquidator of Onehunga Joinery Works Limited, which is being wound up voluntarily, do hereby fix the 31st day of December 1954 as the day on or before which the creditors of the company are to prove their debts or claims and to establish any title they may have to priority under section 258 of the Act, or to be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made before such debts are proved, or, as the case may be, from objecting to such distribution.
