Defining the Purpose of a Reserve and Vesting Reserves in the Hutt County Council

Pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby defines the purpose to which the public reserve described in the First Schedule hereto shall be dedicated as drainage, and, further, vests the reserves described in the First and Second Schedules hereto in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Hutt, in trust, for drainage purposes.

Varying a Notice Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be Tribal Committee Areas Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945

Pursuant to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945, the Minister of Maori Affairs hereby varies the notice dated 16 December 1947 and published in New Zealand Gazette on 8 January 1948, at page 11, declaring parts of the several tribal districts described in the Schedule thereto to be tribal committee areas for the purposes of the said Act by excluding from the Schedule thereto the descriptions of the Ngahina, Whanaupani, and Huiterangiora tribal committee areas in the Tuhoe West Tribal District, and substituting therefor the descriptions appearing in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

NGAHINA TRIBAL COMMITTEE AREA

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Whakatane River in line with the southern boundary of the eastern part of Section 1B 1C 16E, Ruatoki Block; thence proceeding up the middle of the Whakatane River to the southern boundary of Block VI, Urewera Survey District; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of that block and Block V, Urewera Survey District, to its south-western corner; thence northerly along the western boundaries of Blocks V and I, Urewera Survey District, and Blocks XIII, IX, and V, Waimana Survey District, to its intersection with a right line between Kaipurapuna and Taumatamiri Trig. Stations; thence north-westerly along a right line to Taumatamiri Trig. Station and a right line to Te Hiwera Trig. Station; thence north-easterly along a right line in the direction of Tapapakiakia Trig. All that area bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station Tapapakiakia in Block IV, Rangitaiki Lower Survey District; thence proceeding south-westerly along a right line in the direction of Trig.
