Revoking the Vesting of Reclaimed Land in the Rotorua Borough Council

At the Government House at Wellington this 3rd day of November 1954
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS certain land reclaimed by the Rotorua Borough Council pursuant to the provisions of the Rotorua Borough Reclamation Empowering Act 1931, and more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, was vested in the said Council by an Order in Council dated the 5th day of May 1953 and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 21st day of that month, at page 774:
And whereas it is expedient that the said Order in Council should be revoked:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 25 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1924, as amended by section 2 of the Statutes Amendment Act 1936, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby revokes the Order in Council hereinbefore referred to.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area of land containing by admeasurement 3 acres 2 roods 14 perches reclaimed from the waters of Lake Rotorua and shown coloured yellow and sepia on plan marked M.D. 9364 deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street off Rowan Avenue in the City of Christchurch, Subject to a Condition as to the Building Line

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 9th day of November 1954
Present:
THE HON. C. M. BOWDEN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 15 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act 1953 and section 125 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorizes the Christchurch City Council to permit the laying-off of the proposed street described in the Schedule hereto at a width for part of its length of less than 66 ft., but not less than 40 ft., subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land shown edged green on the plan marked P.W.D. 144930, referred to in the said Schedule, within a distance of 40 ft. from the centre line of the said street.
SCHEDULE
THAT proposed street in the Canterbury Land District, City of Christchurch, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 9·4 perches, more or less, being part Lot 1, D.P. 17389, being part Rural Sections 9152 and 9165.
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 144930 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

The Cook Islands Roman Catholic Lands Order 1935, Amendment No. 1

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Cook Islands Act 1915, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER

This order may be cited as the Cook Islands Roman Catholic Lands Order 1935, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Cook Islands Roman Catholic Lands Order 1935* (hereinafter referred to as the principal order).

The principal Order is hereby amended by revoking clause 4, and substituting the following clause:
“4. The Roman Catholic Administrator is hereby constituted a corporation sole, under the name of ‘The Roman Catholic Administrator’, with perpetual succession and an official seal, and with power to acquire, hold, and alienate real and personal property and to do and suffer all that bodies corporate may do and suffer.”

PURSUANT to section 38 of the Finance Act 1931 (No. 2), His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
THE Order in Council relating to the Council of Governors of Nelson College made on the 23rd day of June 1931 and published in Volume II of the Gazette in that year, at page 1833, as amended by the Nelson College Council Order made on the 27th day of April 1953 and published in Volume II of the Gazette in that year, at page 741, is hereby further amended by omitting from paragraph (c) of clause 10 the words “Nelson Agricultural and Pastoral Association”, and substituting the words “Federated Farmers of New Zealand (Nelson Province) Incorporated”.

PURSUANT to the Education Act 1914, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER

This order may be cited as the Kaitaia College Board of Governors Order 1954.

The constitution of the Board of Governors for the Kaitaia College prescribed by section 90 of the Education Act 1914 is hereby varied so that the school shall be controlled by a Board of Governors constituted as follows:
(a) One member appointed by the Auckland Education Board:
(b) Three members elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school, being parents who reside within the Borough of Kaitaia:
(c) Three members elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school, being parents who reside outside the Borough of Kaitaia:
(d) One member appointed by the Governor-General:
(e) One member elected by the members of the School Committees of the Awanui, Kaingaroa, Kaitaia, Peria, Takahue, Victoria Valley, and Waiharara public schools, and Ahipara, Oturu, Pamapuria, Paparore, and Pukepoto Maori schools:
- The Minister of Education may from time to time, by notice in the Gazette, add to the schools to which paragraph (e) of clause 2 of this order applies.
