Final Meeting of Members

In the matter of the Companies Act 1933, and in the matter of The Wellington Queen's Theatre Company Limited (in voluntary liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of section 232 of the Companies Act 1933, a general meeting of the members of the above company will be held at the offices of Messrs Barnett and Barnctt, Public Accountants, Guardian Assurance Building, Wellington, at noon on Friday, 12 November 1954, for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the liquidator.

WANGANUI CITY COUNCIL

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Wanganui City Council, at its meeting held on the 19th day of October 1954, has resolved to prepare for the City of Wanganui a district scheme as required by the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.

The scheme may deal with any of the following matters as in the circumstances are appropriate:

  1. The zoning or definition of areas to be used exclusively or principally for specified purposes or classes of purposes.
  2. The preservation of objects and places of historical interest or natural beauty.
  3. The designation of reserves and proposed reserves for national, civic, cultural, and community purposes, for afforestation and water catchment purposes, for recreation grounds, ornamental gardens, parks, and children’s playgrounds, and for open spaces.
  4. The designation of open spaces for purposes of value to the community on land not intended to be owned by the Council.
  5. Public access from place to place, car parks, transport terminals, aerodromes, and public transport systems, including their creation, establishment, closing, removal, alteration, and diversion; traffic routing; the co-ordination of street widths with land uses and population densities; off-street provision for vehicles while being loaded or unloaded or standing; the fixing of building lines in relation to highways.
  6. Sewerage, drainage, and sewage and rubbish disposal.
  7. Lighting and water supply.
  8. Buildings, with particular reference to—
    (a) Their position on allotment and in relation to any highway and to other buildings;
    (b) Their density, use, character, height, and harmony in design and external appearance;
    (c) Verandas in commercial streets;
    (d) Open space about buildings;
    (e) The fixing of building lines for amenity and other purposes.
  9. Provision and preservation of amenities, including regulation and control of outdoor advertising displays.
  10. Control of subdivision, including restraint upon unnecessary encroachment of urban development upon land of high actual or potential value for production of food.
  11. Land subdivisional standards in relation to any permitted use.
  12. Minimum site areas and dimensions in relation to uses of land and buildings.
  13. Ancillary or consequential works and all other matters involving the principles of town and country planning.

Every person and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit any proposals which in his or its opinion should be considered in the preparation of the proposed scheme.

Proposals marked ‘City of Wanganui District Scheme’ should be addressed to the Town Clerk, and delivered at the Town Clerk’s Office on or before the 31st day of January 1955.

NOTICE is hereby given that the order of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, dated the 20th day of October 1954 confirming the reduction of the capital of the above-named company from £140,000 to £100,000, and the minute approved by the Court showing with respect to the capital of the company as altered the several particulars required by the above Act, was registered by the Assistant Registrar of Companies at Auckland on the 21st day of October 1954.

WAIA PU COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waipu County Council acting under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Counties Act 1920, proposes to execute certain public works (namely, to take land for road), and for the purposes of such work lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.

Notice is hereby further given that plans of the lands required for such public works are deposited in the office of the Waipu County Council at Te Puia and at the offices of Messrs Nolan and Skeet, Solicitors, Childers Road, Gisborne, and are open for inspection by all persons during office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of such public works, or any of them who have any well-founded ground of objection thereto, must state their objection in writing, and deliver same to the Clerk of the Waipu County Council at Te Puia within forty days from the first publication of this notice.

SCHEDULE

2 acres and 19 perches, more or less, being parts Tikitiki Block, and coloured orange on S.O. Plan 4342, blue.

The above-mentioned lands are situated in the County of Waipu, Gisborne Land Registration District, and the plan referred to is deposited in the Survey Office at Gisborne.
