Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

LICENCE

  1. This order may be cited as the Mangaweka Town Board Electric Lines Licence 1954.

  2. Subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, the Mangaweka Town Board (hereinafter referred to as the licensee) is hereby authorized to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto.

  3. The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated herein and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as they may be inconsistent with the provisions of this licence.

  4. The licence hereby conferred is subject to compliance by the licensee with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference Regulations 1934, and with all regulations made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor, except in so far as they may be inconsistent with the provisions of this licence.

  5. The system of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a) and (f) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935.

  6. This licence shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March 1975.

  7. The Order in Council dated the 30th day of August 1926 and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 2nd day of September 1926, at page 2628, authorizing the Mangaweka Town Board to use water for the purpose of generating electricity and to erect electric lines, is hereby revoked.

Consenting to the Raising of Portion (£30,000) of the Dunedin City Council’s Loan of £100,000 and Prescribing the Conditions Thereof

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the Dunedin City Council (hereinafter called the said local authority), being desirous of raising a loan of one hundred thousand pounds, to be known as Transport (Omnibus) Loan 1954 (hereinafter called the said loan), for the purpose of purchasing twelve new motor omnibuses and spare engines for the existing omnibus fleet, has complied with the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926 (hereinafter called the said Act):

And whereas the said local authority is desirous of raising, in the first instance, portion of the said loan amounting to thirty thousand pounds (hereinafter called the said sum), and it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council, as required by the said Act, should be given to the raising of the said sum:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 11 of the said Act, as set out in section 29 of the Finance Act 1932 (No. 2), His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the raising in New Zealand by the said local authority of the said sum for the said purpose up to the amount of thirty thousand pounds, and in giving such consent hereby determines as follows:

  1. The term for which the said sum or any part thereof may be raised shall be ten years.

  2. The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said sum or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate or rates exceeding four per cent per annum.

  3. The said sum or any part thereof shall be repaid by the annual redemption of debentures in the years set out in the first column of the Schedule hereunder of the amounts stated opposite each such year in the second column of the said Schedule.

  1. The payment of interest and redemptions in respect of the said sum shall be made in New Zealand.

  2. No amount payable either as interest or as a redemption in respect of the said sum shall be paid out of loan money.

  3. The rate payable for brokerage, underwriting, and procurement fees in respect of the raising of the said sum or any part thereof shall not in the aggregate exceed one-half per cent of any amount raised.

  4. No money shall be borrowed under this consent after the expiration of two years from the date hereof.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the Tauranga Hospital Board (hereinafter called the said local authority), being desirous of raising a loan of two hundred thousand pounds, to be known as Extensions Loan 1953 (hereinafter called the said loan), for the purpose of providing and equipping a new nurses’ home block and ancillary services at the Tauranga Hospital, has complied with the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926 (hereinafter called the said Act):

And whereas the said local authority is desirous of raising, in the first instance, portion of the said loan amounting to one hundred thousand pounds (hereinafter called the said sum) and it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council, as required by the said Act, should be given to the raising of the said sum:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 11 of the said Act, as set out in section 29 of the Finance Act 1932 (No. 2), His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the raising in New Zealand by the said local authority of the said sum for the said purpose up to the amount of one hundred thousand pounds, and in giving such consent hereby determines as follows:
