MATAMATA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Rural Housing Loan 1954, £50,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Matamata County Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the repayment of and interest charges on a loan of £50,000, authorized to be raised by the Matamata County Council under the abovementioned Act for the purpose of making advances to farmers under the provisions of the Rural Housing Act 1939, the said Matamata County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one twenty-fifth of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the County of Matamata; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 17th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

The foregoing resolution was passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Matamata County Council held on the 14th day of October 1954.

WAIPAWA BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Gasworks Plant Replacement Loan 1954 of £4,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments, and all other powers in that behalf it enabling, the Waipawa Borough Council, at a meeting held in Waipawa on the 5th day of October 1954, resolved, and such resolution was duly confirmed at a meeting of the Council held on the 14th day of October 1954, as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £4,000, authorized to be raised by the Waipawa Borough Council under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 for the purpose of renewing retort setting at the Waipawa Municipal Gasworks and alterations incidental thereto, the said Waipawa Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of fifteen-sixteenths (¹⁵⁄₁₆) of one penny in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the Borough of Waipawa; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

We hereby certify the above to be a true and correct copy of a resolution passed by the Waipawa Borough Council at a meeting held on the 5th day of October 1954, and confirmed at a meeting of the said Council held on the 14th day of October 1954.

CASTLEPOINT COUNTY COUNCIL

SPECIAL ORDER MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Tinui Water Supply Loan 1954, £4,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Castlepoint County Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of four thousand pounds, authorized to be raised by the Castlepoint County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of the Tinui Water Supply Loan 1954, £4,000, the said Castlepoint County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⁷²⁄₁₀₀₀ (seventy-two one thousandths) of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property comprising the whole of the County of Castlepoint; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable annually on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until such loan is fully paid off.’’

Dated at Tinui this 18th day of October 1954.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

The Electrical Extension Loan 1954, £150,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments, and all other powers it in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of one hundred and fifty thousand pounds (£150,000), authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of extending the distribution system and electrical reticulation within the Christchurch City Council’s licensed area of supply, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of thirteen thousand two hundred and thirty-three sixty-two thousand five hundredths of a penny (¹³²³³⁄₆₂₅₀₀) in the pound (£0·0008822) on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

The Christchurch City Council, at a meeting held on the 11th day of October 1954, passed the above resolution.

TUAKAU TOWN COUNCIL

RESOLUTION TO MAKE AND LEVY A SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Fire Services Act 1949, the Fire Services Amendment Act 1953, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act 1951, and the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926, and regulations thereunder, and of all other powers thereunto enabling it, the Tuakau Town Council hereby resolves:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on an amount of two thousand eight hundred and ninety pounds (£2,890), to be known as the Fire Engine Loan 1954, which amount is proposed to be raised by the Tuakau Town Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of purchasing one fire engine and incidental equipment, the said Tuakau Town Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal five two seven pence (0·527d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Tuakau Town District; and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, or until it is fully paid off.’’

Certified that this is a copy of a resolution passed at a special meeting of the Tuakau Town Council, held on the 14th day of October 1954, which had been specially convened for this purpose.
