PURSUANT to the authority conferred on the Bureau of Industry under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act 1936, the following decisions have been made in respect of applications for licences.

Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences Under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act 1936

Manufacture of Paper Pulp and Paper Products

N.Z. Forest Products Ltd., Auckland, has applied for extensions of its licence to cover manufacture of—

(a) Ground wood pulp for use with bleached kraft pulp to make writing and printing paper, and/or bleached and unbleached kraft pulp to make container board.

(b) Container board consisting of blends of kraft pulp with mechanical pulp.

Application is also made for amendment of the company’s licence by removing therefrom the restriction to a maximum of 2,750 tons per annum of paper containing bleached kraft pulp in order to permit the manufacture of various grades of printing and writings consisting of varying mixtures of bleached kraft pulp and ground wood.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor Spirit

Te Awamutu Machinery Ltd., Te Awamutu, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station, garage, and motor-sales premises at corner of Alexandra and Churchill Streets, Te Awamutu.

E. Bray and H. Smyth, Main North Road, Sedgemoor, Manakau, have applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station and garage premises at Main North Road, Sedgemoor, Manakau.

Dalgety and Co. Ltd., Box 908, Christchurch, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit otherwise than through pumps ex stock-and-station agency at Cheviot.

W. J. Wells, Main Road, Oaro, has applied for permission to change the retail selling point of one pump to opposite side of Main Road, Oaro, and 96 yds. farther south at new service-station and garage premises.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 21 October 1954, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 2492, Wellington.
