The Standards Act 1941—Amendment of Standard Specification
NOTICE is hereby given that on 22 September 1954 the undermentioned standard specification was amended by the Minister of Industries and Commerce by incorporation of the amendment shown hereunder:
Number and Title of Specification: N.Z.S.S. 539. Dimensions of prefocus lamp-caps and lamp-holders for voltages not exceeding 250 volts; being B.S. 1164 : 1952.
Amendment No. 1 (Ref. No. PD 1751), 30 November 1953.
Price of Copy (Post Free): 3s.
Application for copies of the standard specification so amended should be made to the N.Z. Standards Institute, Hamilton Chambers, 201 Lambton Quay (P.O. Box 195), Wellington C.1. Copies of the amendment will be supplied free of charge, upon request.

Classification of Street in Kihikihi Town District
PURSUANT to subclause (6) of regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1950 (as substituted by regulation 4 (1) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1950, Amendment No. 8), the Commissioner of Transport, with the concurrence of the Kihikihi Town Board, hereby alters the said Board’s proposed classification of the street described in the Schedule hereto and situated in Kihikihi Town District, and hereby approves such altered classification as described in the said Schedule.

Plants Declared Noxious Weeds in the Patutahi Town District
(Notice No. Ag. 5736)
PURSUANT to the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, and acting under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said Act, the Director-General of Agriculture hereby publishes the following special order made by the Patutahi Town Board on the 14th day of September 1954.
SPECIAL ORDER
IN exercise of the powers conferred upon it by section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Patutahi Town Board hereby resolves and declares by way of special order that the plants in the Schedule below, being plants included in the First Schedule of the said Act, are noxious within the whole of the Town Board district.
SCHEDULE
Barberry (Berberis vulgaris).
Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus).
Common broom (Cytisus scoparius).
Hawthorn (Crataegus oxyacantha and Crataegus monogyna).
Milk thistle or variegated thistle (Silybum marianum).
St. John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum).
Sweetbrier (Rosa eglanteria syn. Rosa rubiginosa).
Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes).
Bathurst bur (Xanthium spinosum).
Boxthorn (Lycium ferocissimum syn. Lycium horridum).
Gorse (Ulex, any species).
Hemlock (Conium maculatum).
Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea).
Star thistle (Centaurea calcitrapa).
Tutsan (Hypericum androsaemum).
Wild teasel (Dipsacus silvester).

Election of Growers’ Representatives to the Tobacco Board
PURSUANT to the provisions of the Tobacco Growing Industry Act 1935, the Tobacco Growing Industry Amendment Act 1951, and the Tobacco Board Election Regulations 1952, section 24, I hereby give public notice that the number of votes received by each candidate for the office of growers’ representative on the Tobacco Board is as follows:

And I hereby declare Kossuth John Newman and Wilfred Cyril Wills to be duly elected to such office.

Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Maniapoto Development Scheme)
PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 9 July 1937 and published in the Gazette on 15 July 1937, at page 1642.
