Notice by the Public Trustee Under the Public Trust Office Act 1908, Part III

WHEREAS Mary Butler, of Wellington, in New Zealand, Spinster, is the owner of certain property, including that described in the Schedule hereto: And whereas it is not known whether the said Mary Butler is alive or dead: And whereas by an order of the Honourable Mr Justice Hutchison, made on the 30th day of August 1954 pursuant to the provisions of section 87 of the Public Trust Office Act 1908 (as amended by section 21 of the Finance Act (No. 2) 1936), the Public Trustee was authorized to exercise in respect of the property of the said Mary Butler all or any of the powers mentioned in clauses (a), (b), (d), (e), (f), (g), (h), (j), and (k) of the said section 87, and also the additional power mentioned in the said order:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 89 of the Public Trust Office Act 1908, the Public Trustee hereby gives notice of his intention to exercise the powers conferred on him by the said order by virtue of Part III of the said Act.


SCHEDULE

A three-quarters share in a dwelling and land at 75 Standen Street, Wellington.
Cash held by the Public Trustee.
Post Office Savings Bank account.
Furniture and effects.

Light Established—Maina Island

A LIGHT Gp. Fl. (2) ev. 18 sec., 47 ft., 11 M., is to be inserted in position 18° 55.4′ S., 159° 48.7′ W. (approx.). It is shown from a black lattice-work tower, and is visible from 159½° through north to 296°.

The characteristics of the light are: Flash 1 sec., eclipse 1 sec., flash 1 sec., eclipse 15 secs.

Position: Akaroa Wharf Front Leading Light. Lat. 43° 48′ 34″ S., long. 172° 57′ 35″ E. (approx.).
Details: The red buoy, 242° 6.8 cables from the above light, has been replaced by a lighted buoy in the same position, flashing every 10 seconds.

South Mole Light Altered

Position: Signal Mast Light 39° 57′ 00″ S., 175° 00′ 30″ E. (approx.).
Details: The South Mole Light, 231° 0.5 miles from the above position, will be altered to show red flash every 2 secs. on or about 6 October 1954. The characteristics of the light will be flash 0.4 secs., eclipse 1.6 secs., visible 3.5 miles.

MOSGIEL BOROUGH COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 13 (1) of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Mosgiel taken on the 18th day of August 1954 on the proposal of the Mosgiel Borough Council to borrow the sum of sixty-one thousand five hundred pounds (£61,500) for installing new sewage treatment works and an outfall sewer therefrom to the Taieri River:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 77.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 53.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
