Revoking the Reservation Over a Reserve in Southland Land District

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby revokes the reservation for a reserve for police purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Cancelling the Vesting and Revoking the Reservation Over Reserves in Canterbury Land District

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby cancels the vesting in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Selwyn of the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and hereby revokes the reservation for reserves for gravel pits over the said lands.

Notice of Intention to Take Additional Land in the Borough of Te Kuiti for a Public School

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the additional land described in the Schedule hereto for a public school; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Te Kuiti and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Revoking Portion of a Warrant Excluding Roads from Limitation as to Speed Imposed by Section 36 of the Transport Act 1949

PURSUANT to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby revokes that portion of the Warrant dated the 20th day of October 1949,* which applies to the road described in the Schedule hereto.

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Transport Act 1949, Section 36

PURSUANT to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby declares the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SITUATED within Cheviot County—

All that area at Cheviot consisting of that portion of Hall Road commencing at its junction with Rolleston Street and terminating at a point 10 chains measured along the said road in a northerly direction from the said junction.

Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences Under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act 1936

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor Spirit

K. B. Newby, care of G. H. Pirrit, Hillcrest Road, Otumoetai, Tauranga, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from two pumps to be installed on new service-station and garage premises at Main Road, Otumoetai, and sales otherwise than through pumps from the same premises.

D. G. Bryce, Main Road, Kawerau, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station and garage premises at Main Road, Kawerau.

Porirua Taxis Ltd., Station Road, Porirua, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on proposed service-station premises at Station Road, Porirua.

N. T. Penwarden and P. Dekker, Whakamaru, Mangakino, have applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station and garage premises at Whakamaru, Mangakino.

Auto Spares (Hawera) Ltd., 157 Princes Street, Hawera, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at 157 Princes Street, Hawera.

Whakatiwai Motors Ltd., Kaiaua, via Pokeno, has applied for permission to take over from J. de Jongh licence for one pump at store premises, Pokeno Road, Kaiaua, and to change the retail selling point one mile to garage premises on corner of Beach and Mangatanga Roads, Kaiaua.

H. H. Pattison, Mayfield, has applied for permission to change the retail selling point of one pump from garage premises on the Arundel–Valetta Highway, Mayfield, approximately 100 ft. to new garage premises on the same section fronting the Darfield–Arundel Highway.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 7 October 1954, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. Land Declared an Infected Place Under the Stock Act 1908 (Notice No. Ag. 5731)

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Stock Act 1908, notice is hereby given that as scrapie has been found to exist among stock on the land described in the Schedule hereto, the said land has been declared to be an infected place under the said section.
