PURSUANT to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as closed the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Local Elections and Polls Act 1953, an election of a Councillor of the City of Auckland was required to be held not later than Thursday, the 16th day of September 1954:
And whereas it is not possible to hold that election within the required period:
And whereas it is desirable to extend the time for holding that election:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 100 of the Local Elections and Polls Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the time for the holding of that election is extended to Saturday, the 16th day of October 1954.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and with the consent of the licensee, hereby revokes the Order in Council dated the 20th day of November 1925 and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 26th day of the same month authorizing Samuel Charlton of Taupo, Hotelkeeper, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity and to erect certain electric lines, the rights, powers, and privileges under the said Order in Council having been assigned by the said Samuel Charlton to Harold Leslie Newdick of Taupo, Hotelkeeper, and by the said Harold Leslie Newdick to Thomas Alexander Heath of Taupo, Hotelkeeper.

Amending the Constitution of the Omahuta-Puketi Rural Fire District

PURSUANT to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby make the following order:
The Order in Council dated the 24th day of November 1948 and published in the New Zealand Gazette on 2 December 1948 at page 1482 is hereby amended by omitting the Schedule to that Order in Council and substituting the Schedule set out in the Schedule to this Order in Council.
