EVIDENCE having been furnished of the loss of the
outstanding duplicates of certificates of title, Volume
139, folio 173, and Volume 139, folio 174 (Wellington
Registry), in the names of RUIHI PENEAMINE and
RAKAIMARO PENEAMINE respectively for, firstly, 16
acres and 31 perches, more or less, being the Maori Land
Court Subdivision Akura No. 4d, Tiffin Survey District, and
secondly, 18 acres 2 roods and 11 perches, more or less, being
the Native Land Court Subdivision Akura No. 4E, Tiffin
Survey District, of which land TAWI PENEAMINE is now
registered proprietor, and application (K.35261) having been
made to me to issue new certificates of title in lieu thereof, I
hereby give notice of my intention to issue such new certifi-
cates of title on the expiration of fourteen days from the
date of the Gazette containing this notice.

ARTHUR DESMOND COURTENAY, of Wellington, Car-
penter, for an estate in fee simple in the land hereinafter
described and in one undivided one-twentieth share in the
land secondly hereinafter described, being, firstly, 19 perches,
more or less, situate in the City of Wellington, being part of
Section 9 of the Town District, and being also Lot 11 on
Deposited Plan No. 1606, and secondly, 1 rood 15·1 perches,
more or less, situate as aforesaid, being other part of the
said Section 9, and being also part of Lot 645 on Deposited
Plan No. 251, and application (K.35248) having been made
to me to issue a new certificate of title in lieu thereof, I
hereby give notice of my intention to issue such new certificate
of title on the expiration of fourteen days from the date of
the Gazette containing this notice.

UPPER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Plant Loan 1954 of £6,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Upper
Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and
other charges on a loan of £6,000, authorized to be raised by
the Upper Hutt Borough Council under the above-mentioned
Act for the purpose of completing the Borough Depot,
Shakespeare Avenue, and purchasing garage tools and equip-
ment, the said Upper Hutt Borough Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of ninety-five thousandths of a penny
(0·095d.) in the pound upon the rateable unimproved value
of all rateable property in the Borough of Upper Hutt; and
that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during
the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the
1st day of April in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until
the loan is fully paid off.’’

The foregoing resolution was passed at the ordinary
meeting of the Upper Hutt Borough Council held in the
Council Chambers, Main Road, Upper Hutt, on Tuesday, the
24th day of August 1954.

UPPER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Stormwater Drainage Loan 1950, £16,100 (Balance of Loan,
£3,460)

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Upper
Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and
other charges on a loan of £3,460 (balance of £16,100 loan),
authorized to be raised by Upper Hutt Borough Council
under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of improving
the stormwater drainage system in Heretaunga Square and
at Wallaceville, the said Upper Hutt Borough Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of four one-hundredths of a
penny (0·04d.) in the pound upon the rateable unimproved
value of all rateable property in the Borough of Upper Hutt,
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly
on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25)
years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

The foregoing resolution was passed at the ordinary
meeting of the Upper Hutt Borough Council held in the
Council Chambers, Main Road, Upper Hutt, on Tuesday, the
24th day of August 1954.
