AUCKLAND METROPOLITAN DRAINAGE BOARD

SPECIAL ORDER

Loan No. 18 1954, £30,000

THE Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Board, in exercise of
the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Auckland
Metropolitan Drainage Act 1944, and in pursuance of the
authority conferred on it under the Local Bodies’ Finance
Act 1921–22, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Local
Bodies’ Loans Board Act 1926, and their respective amend-
ments, and in exercise of all other powers enabling it in that
behalf, doth hereby resolve by special resolution intended to
act as a special order, to borrow the sum of thirty thousand
pounds (£30,000) as a special loan to be designated Loan
No. 18, 1954, £30,000, for the purpose of providing for expendi-
ture in connection with improvements to Oakley Creek above
May Road in the Borough of Mount Roskill.

The foregoing special order was made by way of a
special resolution passed at a special meeting of the Auckland
Metropolitan Drainage Board convened by requisition of the
Chairman dated 23 June 1954 and held on 1 July 1954. It
was publicly notified in the Auckland Star on the 10th and
24th days of July 1954. It was confirmed at an ordinary
meeting of the board, convened by resolution of the board on
the 1st day of July 1954 and held on the 4th day of August
1954.

The Common Seal of the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage
Board was hereto affixed this 4th day of August 1954 in the
presence of—

BLENHEIM BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Plant and Machinery Loan 1954, £10,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and amend-
ments, and all other powers in that behalf thereunto enabling
it, the Council of the Borough of Blenheim doth hereby resolve
as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of securing the interest and other
charges on a loan of ten thousand pounds (£10,000), authorized
to be raised by the Blenheim Borough Council under the
above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing plant and
machinery, the said Council hereby pledges a special rate of
two hundred and eighty-five thousandths of one penny
(0·285d.) on the unimproved rateable value of all rateable
property within the Borough of Blenheim, which, if required,
shall be appropriated as security for the purpose of the pay-
ment of interest and principal of the said loan, and that such
rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand
in each and every year during the currency of the said loan.’’

I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at
a meeting of the Blenheim Borough Council held on the 4th
day of August 1954.

WHANGAREI BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN accordance with the powers vested in it in that behalf by
the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Whangarei Borough
Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £2,400, authorized to be raised by the
Whangarei Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act
for the purpose of carrying out a portion of the work which
is proposed for the provision and treatment of a major part
of the Borough water supply (namely, the provision of new
pumps and pumphouse extensions at the Hatea River Pumping
Station), the said Whangarei Borough Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of 0·026d. in the pound upon the
rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of
Whangarei, and that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring special rate during the currency of the said loan
and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each
and every year during the currency of such loan, being for a
period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is paid off, and
the said Council doth hereby appropriate and pledge the said
special rate as security for the said loan.’’

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and its
amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Matamata County Council
proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned
Act, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for
road; and notice is hereby further given that plans showing
the land proposed to be taken are deposited in the public
office of the Clerk of the above Council, situated at Tirau,
and are open for inspection, without fee, by all persons
during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the taking of the said land who
have any objections thereto must state their objections in
writing, and lodge the same at the office of the County Clerk
within forty days from the date of publication of this notice.
