At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of August 1954
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby licenses and permits Francis Oliver John Langton, of Rawene, trading under the style and title of T. P. Lane and Co. (hereinafter called the licensee, unless the context requires a different construction), to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and land below low water mark at Rawene, in Hokianga Harbour, at the site marked No. 8 as shown on plan marked M.D. 6194 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department, at Wellington, for the purpose of maintaining a store thereon as shown on the said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the licensee upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
CONDITIONS
- This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1940, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto.
- The premium payable by the licensee shall be two pounds (£2) and the annual sum so payable five pounds (£5).
- The term of the licence shall be fourteen years from the 1st day of August 1954.

Investment of £5,000 of the Bluff Harbour Board Funds

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 53 of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorizes the Bluff Harbour Board to invest the sum of five thousand pounds (£5,000) of the Board’s Plant Renewals Reserve Fund in the debentures of the Bay of Plenty Electric Power Board’s Reticulation Extension Loan 1954 for a term of seven years at 4 per cent, maturing in 1961.

Authorizing the Whangarei Harbour Board to Reclaim Land in Whangarei Harbour

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of August 1954
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS it is provided by section 185 of the Harbours Act 1950 (hereinafter called the said Act), that where a Harbour Board is desirous of executing or constructing upon lands vested in such Board or upon lands of the Crown any harbour works of such a nature that the same could, but for this section, only be carried out and executed under the authority of a special Act, the Board may apply to the Governor-General in Council for a special order, and, if the Governor-General in Council thinks fit, such order may be made and granted:
And whereas the Whangarei Harbour Board (hereinafter called the Board) is desirous of reclaiming from the sea certain land in Whangarei Harbour, and the said harbour works are of such a nature as aforesaid, and the Board has applied to the Governor-General in Council for a special order authorizing the execution of the said harbour works:
And whereas all the conditions precedent to the granting of a special order prescribed by section 185 of the said Act have been duly complied with:
And whereas it has been made to appear to the Governor-General in Council that the proposed work will not be or tend to the injury of navigation:
Now, therefore, pursuant to the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorizes and empowers the Board to reclaim from the sea in Whangarei Harbour all the lands containing 19 acres and 1 perch, more or less, edged red on plans marked M.D. 9710 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department, at Wellington, and to construct a reclamation and the erection of retaining walls in connection therewith, provided such reclamation and the erection of such retaining walls is carried out and constructed in accordance with plans marked M.D. 9710, in so far as those plans apply to the said reclamation and retaining walls, subject to the provisions of the said Act; and that the said harbour works shall be completed within the period of three years computed from the date of this Order in Council.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, the land being no longer required for the purpose for which it was acquired.

PURSUANT to section 112 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become Government road.
