Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be Tribal Committee Areas Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945

URSUANT to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945, the Minister of Maori Affairs hereby declares the parts of the tribal district described in the Schedule hereto to be tribal committee areas for the purposes of the said Act, and hereby assigns to each of the several areas the name appearing at the head of the description of each area.
SCHEDULE
TUHOE MANAWARU TRIBAL DISTRICT
Manawaru Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at the south-western corner of Block V, Urewera Survey District; thence proceeding easterly along the southern boundaries of Blocks V, VI, and VII, Urewera Survey District, to the summit of the watershed between the Whakatane and Tauranga Rivers; thence southerly generally along that watershed to Pawairotio Trig. Station in Block III, Ruatahuna Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line to Te Rangataneiti Trig. Station in Block VI, Ruatahuna Survey District, and a right line to the junction of the eastern boundary of Maurea Block with the Ophoau Stream; thence westerly generally down that stream, to and along the north-western boundary of Maurea Block, across a road, to and along the northern boundary of Te Puo Block to the Mangaorongo Stream; thence down that stream to its confluence with the Whakatane River; thence north-westerly along a right line passing through Trig. Station 2125 (Whakaipu), in Block VII, Ahikereru Survey District, to its intersection with a right line between the north-eastern corner of Waireporepo Block, and the south-western corner of Block V, Urewera Survey District; thence north-easterly along the last-mentioned right line to the point of commencement.
Te Waiti - Huiarau Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the summit of the watershed between the Whakatane and Tauranga Rivers, and the southern boundary of the Urewera Survey District; thence proceeding easterly along that boundary and the southern boundary of Waioka South Survey District to the western boundary of Tahora Block; thence southerly along that boundary to its intersection with a right line between Mangatapere and Maungapohatu Trig. Stations; thence westerly along that line to Maungapohatu Trig. Station; thence south-easterly along a right line in the direction of Puketapu Trig. Station to its intersection with the north-western boundary of Waipaoa Block; thence south-westerly along that boundary passing through Trig. Stations Koranga West and Pukepuke to its intersection with a right line between Puketapu Trig. Station and the northernmost point of Lake Waikaremoana; thence westerly along that right line to Lake Waikaremoana and a right line in the direction of Te Taumutu Trig. Station in Block XVI, Heruwi Survey District, to its intersection with the production of a right line between the source of the Waiaru Stream and Trig. Station Whakatakua in Block II, Waikaremoana West Survey District; thence northerly along the last-mentioned right line to the source of the Waiaru Stream; thence down the middle of that stream and the Mangaorongo Stream to a point in line with the generally western boundary of Te Huia Block; thence northerly to and along that boundary, across the Rotorua-Waikaremoana State Highway, to and along the western boundary of Okete Block; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundary of Kopuhaua Block to the eastern boundary of Maurea Block; thence northerly along that boundary to the Ophoau Stream; thence north-easterly along a right line to Te Rangataneiti Trig. Station and a right line to Trig. Station Pawairotio in Block III, Ruatahuna Survey District, being a point on the summit of the watershed between the Whakatane and Tauranga Rivers; thence northerly generally along the summit of that watershed to the point of commencement.
Ruatahuna Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station Te Taumutu in Block XVI, Heruwi Survey District; thence proceeding north-easterly along a right line in the direction of the north-eastern corner of Waireporepo Block in Block XI, Ahikereru Survey District, to its intersection with the southern boundary of Block X, Ahikereru Survey District; thence easterly along that boundary and the southern boundaries of Blocks XI and XII, Ahikereru Survey District, to the western boundary of Kakani Block; thence along the western and southern boundaries of that block and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Whakatane River; thence down the middle of that river to and up the middle of the Ruatahuna Stream to its intersection with the south-eastern boundary of Wharekakaho Block; thence south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station Whakatakua in Block II, Waikaremoana West Survey District; thence southerly along the production of a right line between the source of the Waiaru Stream and the said Trig. Station Whakatakua to its intersection with a right line between the northernmost point of Lake Waikaremoana and Trig. Station Te Taumutu; thence south-westerly along the last-mentioned right line to the said Trig. Station Te Taumutu, being the point of commencement.
Kakahu-Tapiki Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the southern boundary of Block X, Ahikereru Survey District, with a right line between Te Taumutu Trig. Station in Block XVI, Heruwi Survey District, and the north-eastern corner of Waireporepo Block in Block XI, Ahikereru Survey District; thence proceeding north-easterly along that right line to the north-eastern corner of Waireporepo Block and along a right line in the direction of the south-western corner of Block V, Urewera Survey District, to its intersection with the production of a right line between the confluence of the Whakatane River and Mangaorongo Stream and Trig. Station Whakaipu in Block VII, Ahikereru Survey District; thence south-easterly to and along the last-mentioned right line to the confluence of the Whakatane River and the Mangaorongo Stream; thence up the middle of the Mangaorongo Stream to its source; thence southerly along a right line to Trig. Station Whakatakua in Block II, Waikaremoana West Survey District, being a point on the boundary of the Ruatahuna Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described; thence north-westerly generally along the boundary of that area to the point of commencement.
Ngati - Te Paenga Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the eastern boundary of Maurea Block with Ophoau Stream, being a point on the boundary of the Manawaru Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described; thence proceeding westerly along the boundary of that area to the Mangaorongo Stream; thence up the middle of that stream to a point in line with the southern boundary of Te Tawai Block; thence generally easterly along the southern boundaries of that block and Waipakau and Maurea Blocks to the eastern boundary of Maurea Block; thence northerly along that boundary to the Ophoau Stream, being the point of commencement.
Ngai Te Etu Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Mangaorongo Stream in line with the northern boundary of Kohimarama Block; thence proceeding to and along that boundary, the northern boundary of Kiritahi Block, the north-eastern boundaries of Kiritahi and Kohimarama Blocks and the eastern boundary of Araiwhenua Block, crossing the Rotorua-Waikaremoana State Highway, and along the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Mangaorongo Stream; thence down the middle of that stream to a point in line with the northern boundary of Kohimarama Block, being the point of commencement.

Defining the Purpose of a Reserve
P
URSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby defines the purpose to which the public reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall be dedicated, as recreation.

Lot 12, Deposited Plan No. 12387, being part Section 45, Porirua District, situated in Block VII, Belmont Survey District: Area, 1 rood 1-99 perches, more or less.

Revoking the Vesting of Control of a Reserve in the Whangaeu Public Hall Board

URSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby revokes the vesting of the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto in the Whangaeu Public Hall Board.

Part Section 141N, Kai-o-te-atua Block, situated in Block II, Otahoua Survey District: Area, 3 roods 37-9 perches, more or less. As shown on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/895, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. Balance certificate of title, Volume 34, folio 134.
