Horowhenua College—School Added to List for Election of Managers by School Committees

PURSUANT to clause 2 of the Order in Council* providing for the constitution of the Board of Managers for Horowhenua College, the Minister of Education hereby declares that Levin North Public School shall be one of the schools to which paragraph (b) of clause 1 of the aforesaid Order applies.

PURSUANT to the Milk Delivery Regulations 1949,* the Minister of Agriculture hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. This notice may be cited as the Thames Milk Delivery Notice 1952, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Thames Milk Delivery Notice 1952† (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).

  2. The Thames Milk Delivery Scheme 1952, as set forth in the Schedule to the principal notice, is hereby amended by omitting the words “W. T. Cox, Puriri Dairy, Pollen Street, Thames”, and by substituting therefor the words “Mr and Mrs N. S. Burrett, Puriri Dairy, Pollen Street, Thames”.

  1. This notice may be cited as the Levin Milk Delivery Notice 1952, Amendment No. 3, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Levin Milk Delivery Notice 1952† (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).

  2. The Levin Milk Delivery Scheme, as set forth in the Schedule to the principal notice, is hereby amended by omitting the words “Levin Milk Supply, Chamberlain Street, Levin”, and substituting therefor the words “Messrs L. E. and P. E. Nickolaison, 27 Reeves Street, Levin”.

PURSUANT to the Milk Delivery Regulations 1949,* the Minister of Agriculture hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. This notice may be cited as the Rangiora Milk Delivery Notice 1953, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Rangiora Milk Delivery Notice 1953† (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).

  2. The Rangiora Milk Delivery Scheme 1953, as set forth in the Schedule to the principal notice, is hereby amended by revoking subclause (2), and substituting the following subclause.

“‘(2) Subject to the foregoing provisions of this scheme, the persons hereinafter described may deliver milk, wholesale or retail, in the areas allotted to them as follows, and not otherwise:

Circular Despatch B No. 12

SIR,

I have the honour to refer to my despatch of the 17 June 1953, Circular B No. 11 and to transmit copies of a circular issued by the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament regarding nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize for 1955.

  1. It would be appreciated if the conditions of the Prize could be made known to those bodies and persons who are qualified to nominate candidates.

NOBEL PEACE PRIZE

ALL proposals of candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize, which is to be distributed December 10th, 1955, must, in order to be taken into consideration, be laid before the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament by a duly qualified person before the first of February of the same year.

Any one of the following persons is held to be duly qualified: (a) Members and late members of the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament, as well as the advisers appointed at the Norwegian Nobel Institute; (b) Members of Parliament and Members of Government of the different States, as well as Members of the Interparliamentary Union; (c) Members of the International Arbitration Court at The Hague; (d) Members of the Council of the International Peace Bureau; (e) Members and Associates of the Institute of International Law; (f) University professors of Political Science and of Law, of History and of Philosophy; and (g) Persons who have received the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Nobel Peace Prize may also be accorded to institutions or associations.

According to the Code of Statutes, §8, the grounds upon which any proposal is made must be stated and handed in along with such papers and other documents as may therein be referred to.

According to §3, every written work, to qualify for a prize, must have appeared in print.

For particulars, qualified persons are requested to apply to the Office of the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament, Drammensvei 19, Oslo.
